? Like if I decide to do a few could I get CTE off of one fight or is that unrealistic. See, I'm 27 going on 28 next month and returning to college (community college) in January, but I always wanted to do Boxing as a hobby. I wanted to do at least five amateur fights. Advice?
Are you joking? If somebody tries to knock ya head off and punch you to the face you probably know the answer to "Is doing boxing dangerous?"...Yes, it is. It's dangerous on any level.
There is no way to do a dangerous thing and take the danger out of it. Maybe your can attempt to minimize the danger but your opponent isn’t going to cooperate. Also, not just fighting is involved in CTE. You have to spar to get ready to fight and that involves blows to the head too.
People develop brain injuries over time through thousands of rounds of sparring then of course competitive bouts, 5 amateur bouts is minimal and is unlikely to develop any long term damage.
