The harsh reality is a prime Vitali was unable to get the job done against an unmotivated obese old version of Lewis and was stopped in a fair fight. Should he have had the rematch? possibly but as he'd been talking about retirement beforehand and had got the win he had nothing else to prove. Also why would his fans be insecure? He's regarded by most to be top 5 at worst and some have him top 3 of all time.
What you saying literally does not make logical sense.

 

Vitali was winning the fight and wanted to continue, cuts are a legal but unfortunate way for a fight to be decided. Vitali was wiping the floor with Lewis. Lewis also laced the cut to make it worse as he was desperately trying to end it by any means necessary. The fact that Vitali was winning the fight until that cruel twist of fate is what makes Lewis fans insecure.

Lewis was not fat and old either, yet more desperate excuses for the fact Lewis was getting a beating.

 

Er Lewis was clearly getting the better of it towards the end of the fight and the damage caused by punches clearly demonstrated that.
Nobody is insecure about a fight that happened nearly 20 years ago...

Vitali was beaten. stopped and had his chance but wasn't quite Good enough to get the job done.

I didn't think anyone seriously debated Lewis vs Vitali any more.

There were some trolls back in the day who felt Vitali was cheated not defeated, but Lewis stopped him.

He beat him to the point he could no longer safely defend himself.

 

Lewis was wobbling about like an old man, he was about to get knocked out, all you have to do is watch the fight back. Lewis promised a rematch then retired as he knew Vitali had the beating of him. I do accept Vitali lost, same as I accept other losses of fighters by DQ or some other inconclusive method. It is you who can't accept that despite Vitali losing on cuts, he was giving Lewis hell and the cut was very fortunate, and helped on its way by the laces of Lewis' glove.
