If Bob Arum prevents a Bivol-Beterbiev unification fight because he dislikes Hearn

There is no way I will blame Arum after so many great fights, that he is making.

at that age and still doing better than any other promoter, or even better than everyone combined. (if you don't believe, lets make a list of good fights by promoters and compare)

If Bivol wants to fight, he will do anything for this opportunity.

 

Ultimately for all the pantomime that goes on these guys are businessmen that would sign a deal with the devil himself if they thought it to their benefit. I don't think the reason to prevent the fight would be because he hates Hearn, it would be for strategic reasons around Top Rank and Dazn and broadcast partners. They're playing high level chess trying to starve the opposition of ammunition / content and preserve the value of their own best fighters.

Obviously it's the fight we all want, but promoters don't have the same interests as fans. They'd sooner use the interest to make lesser fights which keep the two guys winning and make the big fight only once all the other dollars have been extracted from the fans wallets. They'd do this regardless of the personal relationships between Hearn, Arum or any other player. It's just business.

 

**** anthony yarde nobody wants to see this arrogant *****... Dumb the belts and fight Bivol, every body knows who the real champs are... And yarde aint one of Them...

 

For (massively in my view) less risk. He can take that fight and still get the revenue from the bivol fight later, arguably it will only grow further with more marinating...

 

Bob and Eddie have actually worked together and i don't think anything has soured the relationship to the point where they carn't work together in the future?
Undisputed seems to be the desired route a lot of fighters are taking at the moment (we have had more undisputed fights since the pandemic than we have had in the previous 10 years)
I carn't see a reason both guys wont want to go straight into undisputed it makes sense for both guys and probably the biggest payday for both.
Unless Canelo wants to get his lugs boxed off again i think this is the next fight for both.

 

I wouldnt be surprised if that happens. Greedy bob is one of the most selfish promoters and has blocked alot of big fights from happening because hes not willing to do buisness outside his own promotion. Terrible.

 

I thought it was obvious. Arum is trying to age Beterbiev out. Keep him winning and earning money against guys like Yarde.

Beterbiev is thirty seven and still a monster. Arum will wait a year and half or two and cash him out.

Yes but I don't believe Arum believes he can beat Bivol. He can beat Yarde. Maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps Bob is just an old, bitterly defeated man who is senile. He is what... a hundred and four?

 

Promoters complain about other promoters blocking fights only when it’s convenient for them. They would do the same thing when it’s not in the best interest of their business..
