Who would you take in this fight of evenly sized opponents. 15 round fight with neutral judges. Surprisingly, Beterbiev has a slight size advantage vs Marciano. Height: Beterbiev: 5' 11.5 Marciano: 5' 10.5 Reach: Beterbiev: 73" Marciano: 68" Weight: Beterbiev: 190 lbs (In ring weight) Marciano: 188 lbs They both have monstrous KO power. Beterbiev with 18 out of 18 KOs and Marciano with 43 out of 49 KOs. I think Beterbiev could give Marciano a lot of trouble with his power and strong boxing skills. I take Beterbiev in a 10 round Knockout.
Marciano is way too relentless for Beterbiev. Yes, AB is the better boxer, but he is prone to flash KD, and generally has an untested chin. He struggles a bit on the inside as well, while Marciano was notoriously good at breaking boxers down on the inside. Much too awkward and strong for Beterbiev.
Great fight but watch round 6 Marciano Vs Moore. beterbiev is a savage but Marciano is the rings ultimate animal and no one below 200lb beats Marciano by outslugging him in the trenches.
The are two wrinkles to this fight. First, how well does Beterbiev take a punch. We know Marciano threw with monstrous power and could take a monstrously powerful shot. Beterbiev has great power but his chin hasn't been tested like this. This is not to say he couldn't take the power, it's just to say that we don't know for sure. Second, Beterbiev has not been knocking out heavyweights like Marciano was so it's tough to say if he has elite heavyweight power. This would be a fierce matchup and I will go with Marciano by mid-round KO
Marciano was a true original there's never been anyone like him before or since.. he's still underrated to this day as well… he'd smash Beterviev eventually in a barn burner..
Marcianos lack of guard and tendency to dip his head would leave Beterbiev too many easy openings to exploit. That and Marciano looks to be more cement footed than even Canelo. I don't buy Marciano being more powerful than Beterbiev either. Everything Marcio does is designed to put steam into what he throws. When he comes forward he's throwing leaping hooks, when he's planted and throwing he's loading up and throwing from way behind him while Beterbiev is generating massive power with short punches. Marciano's style is a sucker for the overhand right and uppercut, both of which Beterbiev throws in bunches. I see this going one way and that's Beterbiev beating Marciano to the punch in almost every exchange.
Marciano's looping punches will not connect in time but AB short compact punches will. It will be a brutal fight with Marciano down and out by the 6th or 7th round.
Marciano takes it here - simply put, he would just be too relentless, too tough and his style would undo Beterbiev at some point through the fight.
Yes, many delusionals posting in this thread. No offense to Marciano but Beterbiev is the most natural power puncher I have witnessed in this sport.
My gut feeling is Beterbiev would smash Marciano up, or at least give him the fight of his life. I'm open to having my mind changed based on how Beterbiev's career pans out however.
