I started the thread because Spence is a huge welter and some have stated that he could move up to 160.
I wish Ugas would take a free shot at your face the way he did to Spence then you can feel whether he can punch or not after you wake up probably in hospital. The problem with some comments like yours is that you are so disrespectful to fighters.
When Toney was drying out for middleweight fights, he got floored by Reggie Johnson and Dave Tiberi arguably beat him. Errol Spence is better than Dave Tiberi. If Toney made a fight with Spence at Middleweight, Toney would probably lose and then go kill his manager, like he tried to do after the Jones fight when she wanted him to stay at Super Middle. Toney was a 200-pound football player in college. His days at middleweight were numbered ... they made up about one-seventh of his career. He couldn't sustain it.
The circumstances show Spence gave him a free shot he did not see and he did not go down and proceeded to beat the **** out of Ugas. This makes very clear Spenc3chas a great chin.
They never fought at welterweight, Mark. You're comparing Spence to fighters TWO divisions above him, if not more. Most welterweights don't beat guys who won versions of the light heavyweight or even heavyweight titles. This is a weird thread comparison. A guy who could barely make middleweight at the start of his career against a guy who hasn't been there yet. That said, James Toney wasn't at all dominant at middleweight. He had a belt there for a year and a half and had a split decision with Tiberi, a split decision with Johnson (and got floored), a draw and a split decision with McCallum, and had to come from way behind to stop Nunn.
