I think Moorer lands a surprise bomb in the 1st round and has Tyson ready to go but can’t finish him off and in the 2nd round Tyson totally destroys Him

Leaning towards Tyson but by this point it might not be as much of a mismatch as people think

Yeah Tyson had a heck of a chin. That said I could see Moorer landing a bomb early in the 1st round and stunning Tyson and not being able to capitalize or finish him off. Tyson then comes out and blows Moorer out in the 2nd round. Hey Bruno stunned Tyson in there first fight.

96 Tyson might still have been the 3rd best heavyweight in the world. I would have liked to see him against a really durable guy like Tua or Mercer to see how how good he still was. He KO's MM within 3.

Mike was allowed to fight Moorer’s conqueror, Foreman. Should have backed up the Brinks truck to his doorstep and made it happen.

    Foreman didn't want it.

Upon what do we base this? Was he given a legit offer that he turned down?

Far as I can tell, Tyson didn’t want it. But without an offer who can say?

EDIT: If you’re basing this on some Foreman interviews in recent years, I’d take that with a grain of salt. He says he was petrified of Jerry Quarry (lol) and also of Joe Frazier (how did that work out?).

Here’s George this year saying he wasn’t afraid of fighting Tyson:

If you go by some of George’s ‘everyone was great, I’d have been completely outclassed’ comments in his elder statesman years, it’s amazing he ever had the courage to step into the ring in the first place, lol.

I wish Moorer-Tyson had taken place just so we could have seen this play out:

Moorer survives the first round. Comes back to corner.

Teddy Atlas: You have to FIGHT this guy. If you don’t do it, I’ll put on the gloves and take your place.

    Moorer: OK, go ahead.

Tyson (from opposite corner): I’ll allow the substitution.

    Teddy: (messes his pants)

Maybe because he gave up his belt to avoid Tucker and fought limited guys for the rest of his career.

The Axel Schulz fight ruined any talk of Tyson-Foreman being a SuperFight. Tyson-Bowe was already seen as that and became bonafide after Foreman's colossal boo boo.

Tyson was making $30,000,000 fighting McNeeley and Mathis, so basically Foreman needed Tyson more than Tyson needed him. Foreman would have to wait in line after Tyson unified the belts. But then again...

Oh man Atlas going against Tyson, I can only imagine the theatrics if Moorer makes it back to his corner after round 1.
