The only thing Joshua is better at is blabbering on before the fight and announcing the knockout and in the end he barely wins or loses...
Markus, I'm not saying Joshua's resumes good I'm just saying Lennox's resume is overrated to the high heavens. Now that you bring up 41 yo Wlad.. Yes he was past prime.. But just watch Wlads general performance/ability (very light on his feet and conditioned) against AJ and compare it to the likes of Mercer/old Holyfield /fat Tua. Wlad abso fkn lootely looked more the part in his fight against AJ than those guys did against Lennox. They looked lethargic and sloppy (especially Mercer and Tua) That's not really debatable.
Compared to what ? Ali's resume ? It's over twice as stacked as anyone of these guys today. Yeah Klitschko was more light on his feet than Ruiz too look how that turned out. Klitschko was old. Lewis would've trashed that version in 2 or 3 rounds. He would've taken it to him, not gassed like Joshua, and stopped him Akinwande and Biggs were more light on his feet than those guys but it doesn't matter because Tua, Mercer, and Holyfield were (usually) come forward type fighters. Povetkin is a great example. Povetkin was 39 and looked worse than Tua but still gave Joshua fits, rocked him, and was outboxing him until he gassed and got KO'd. Had Povetkin had an iron chin like Mercer or had a decent gas tank he could've absolutely won a decision. Also Holyfield in the Lewis fights didn't have heavy feet and he looked sloppy because Lewis made him look that way by jabbing his face in and keeping it long, nullifying Holyfields strengths. He wasn't looking so sloppy against Tyson and Rahman.
Joshua has a better left hook. Lewis was never very effective at throwing this punch. Joshua’s also a better combo puncher at mid range, although he’s started getting away from this after Ruiz 1.
I think Joshua wouldve outboxed Tua more easily. I remember watching the Lewis/Tua fight and not being very impressed
Lewis is better at everything. A lot better. AJ is taller. That's about it. I guess you could say AJ once got off the canvas to win a fight, which is something Lewis never did. But that's a measure of determination, and Lewis is miles ahead there too. He was stopped twice, but we never saw Lewis mentally give in the way AJ has.
Agreed vs McCall he tried to continue and the stoppage was questionable. Versus Rahman he just couldnt get up physically.
