Oscar fought Floyd, Pea and Shane. Yes, he struggled. Do you know why? Because they were all great fighters. Name me the guys who Spence, Crawford and Loma have fought, who are equal or better than: A PRIME Shane Mosley, a 2007 version of Floyd and Sweet Pea? I’ll help you out: There is nobody. Spence looks great. Again, I’m a huge fan. But he’s never seen a prime Mosley, a Floyd or a Pea. Neither has Crawford. Neither has Loma. Loma has just lost to Teo. Regarding Tito, he was a huge threat. And he was at his peak at WW-JMW. Everything you’re claiming, can just be turned right back on you. You say that Pernell was special, but that he never fought anybody as skilled as today’s guys. Okay. Well none of the guys you have mentioned have fought anybody as skilled as Pea either. Again, let me know when ANY of these guys you mention fight or beat a GREAT fighter whilst they are prime.
I think you are underrating the modern era of fighters. As stated in a previous thread I made, Floyd never fought fighters as good as Davis, Crawford, Ennis, Spence, or Shakur.
they never fought anyone as great as Floyd. Nor will they. Floyd also shut out Canelo and Pacquiao. He isn't even a welter either.
Yes, they have much deeper resumes. But in terms of talent, Pea was clearly on their level. Even on a higher level than Manny. No, the boxers haven’t got better. There hasn’t been any evolution in the sport over the last 20-30 years. It’s such an ignorant and silly thing to claim. There’s whole divisions today that aren’t better than some divisions from 20-30 years ago. You must be new to the sport. The WW’s today aren’t better. I wouldn’t favour Loma over Pea. Not at all.
Come on, he beat the unbreakable Khan and also Brook, that's like beating Ray Leonard and Hearns lol It's embarrassing comparing Buds resume to sweet pea
Let’s look at your theory of basic evolution: FORTY YEARS AGO we had the following WW’s: Ray Leonard Roberto Duran Thomas Hearns Wilfredo Benitez So by your theory, today’s WW’s must be so far ahead, it’d be laughable to even make comparisons between the two eras. However, if I did a poll, nobody would rank today’s division ahead of the one from the 80’s There is no evolution. Now if you want to take into account the era of same day weigh-ins, then we can just compare those guys to today’s LWW’s. But then that would only weaken your argument even further.
Newsflash, genius: Crawford and Spence would also struggle with a 2007 Floyd, a prime Shane and Oscar. Chavez is one of the most overrated fighters ever? Loma has just lost to Teo Lopez. Would you bet the farm on Loma beating Chavez? I sure wouldn’t.
Again, let us know when Crawford fights and beats guys of that calibre. Let me know when he beats an Oscar, Shane or Floyd type fighter. He might not even beat Spence yet. Stop being ignorant and show these fighters some respect. Again, a guy like Oscar fought a prime Tito, a prime Shane, a 2007 Floyd and an ATG MW in Hopkins. Who the hell as Crawford fought in comparison?? A faded Brook. Gamboa Porter. Again: CONTEXT.
Mayorga was a tough style for some guys. It's kinda like Forman destroyed Frazier, Frazier beat Ali, Ali beat Forman. Styles make fights.
Do you watch boxing?
What are you talking about? Boxing IQ asked who Azuma Nelson and Buddy Mcgirt were. Those are the fighters I was referring to.
That is absolutely insane. You've never seen Sweet Pea fight, I'm convinced of that now. Please go back and look at Pernell's foot placement and how he is in and out of centerline when throwing the jab vs. throwing the lead left, look at his circle and right jab, in every single fight, go look at how he catches right hands with his back hand and shoots back. That's only 3 things, I can give 20.............What you're saying really doesn't make sense. And the fact that you also said Oscar, Tito and JCC are lesser fighters than Crawford (all 3 who I'd pick to beat him and Tito by stoppage) means you're clearly trolling.
