    You seem very sure about this.
    Lastarza in his prime was beaten and floored by journeyman Rocky Jones.
    Lastarza scored 2, 1 rd ko's over;

    Zeke Brown188lbs 0-8-0
    Jimmy Jones 180lbs 3-16-2

    Berterbiev is currently 18-0-0 all by ko
    As an amateur his record is 96-10-0 he was stopped once ,in his third fight.
    Lastarza a half inch taller.
    If anyone is getting stopped here I think it will be Lastarza who faced very few punchers.

    On the flip side he came within a whisker of beating a certain Rocky Marciano, narrowly losing on points. This chap Marciano was a wee bit of a puncher I’ve heard(!)
    Lastarza also went 37 unbeaten before that Marciano defeat…maybe Beterbiev would have been beaten by now if he fought as many times.
    He also fought Marciano yet again, this time for the World title, going 11 rounds before he ran out of gas and was battered. So he went 21 rounds in total with an ATG unbeaten Heavyweight and though he never won, there was enough to see there to come to the conclusion that Beterbiev would definitely not have it all his own way, not at all.

    Having said all that I rate Beterbiev…he’s got something of the monster about him. A modern day terminator. It’s a fight I’d love to see!

    By no stretch a walkover but I feel the first responder was of target with his assessment.

    Who has Beterbiev defeated that he deserves the nod? Do you really think he hits harder then Marciano or Layne? I’d think not.

    I agree with you l. I can’t see a fight between these two being easy for either of them

    Have I said he hits harder than either? Does he need to to win? If Layne was such a big puncher ,how come he never stopped a top ten ranked heavyweight?

    I don’t know. Roland was a very good defensive defensive fighter who had good stamina and durability and was used to fighting some hard punching heavies. His biggest problem was that he didn’t have much to hurt Beterbiev with. He might survive to take a decision

    Beterbiev by KO early. Something along the lines we saw against Joe Smith.

    Layne stopped Bob Satterfield. So wrong. But I never said you said he hit harder. I asked if you thought he did. And yes he would need a KO to beat him imo. I think Lastarza out boxes him. I think others stating Beterbiev is proven enough are insane. He’s beat no one worth noting that are better then Lastarzas top wins. Although Lastarza is a little thin at the best wins himself. At least he was proven even in losses to Marciano. These threads never play out as people think historically. Like all the clowns making Andy Ruiz threads after his AJ win stating he would beat everyone imaginable are the same ones making claims today in this thread. Yes whole careers and resumes are important. Lastarza also had a good amateur career
