Would Michael Grant be ranked in the top 10 if he was fighting now in his prime?

I really don`t think they were that good, Holy was fantastic and Lewis was very good, but most top ten lists during Lewis`s reign were extremely poor.

Sure he would. If he was matched correctly.

No, he would be somewhere 25-30 in the modern day. Imagine him vs Jerry Forrest

If Wilder was in top 10 Grant has a chance as well. He can go through Wilder's resume and lose only to Fury.

The thing with being in the top 10 rankings in any era for a moment is that it's really not that hard to accomplish. That's like saying Breazeale was a top 10 fighter from AJ era because at one point he was probably ranked in the top 10. If you look at yearly rankings of the 70s and 90s you will find guys in the bottom half of the top 10 you have barely heard of.

Lower half of the top ten but he would be there. This isn't an endorsement of Grant either, he beat decent fringe contenders on the way up to Lewis, maybe a top ten guy in Golota at the time. I'm sure there would be a thread on Joe Louis vs Michael Grant and why super heavy Grant would beat Louis.

Well Grant would beat Wilder and Ortiz who are in the Ring top 10 but there's about 10 guys not in the ring top 10 that would also beat Wilder and Ortiz.

I enjoyed the big fights in the 90`s, but Morrison was all over the place, he used to get nailed flush despite his devastating hook.

Wilder would finish Grant in seconds. Ortiz is far more skilled than Grant was.

Ortiz would have toyed with Grant.

every HW pretty much gets nailed flush mark. That isn't an era thing. Not like we're working with HW with Mayweather-like defense.

Not Lewis and Holy was harder to hit than Tommy also, he had very bad fundamentals.
