Still shocked to the present day when that Lewis uppercut landed flush on the chin of Vitali - that punch would have knocked anyone else out of the arena.

Joyce has the same chin and not many of those around

 

I like Joyce and the way he fights is entertaining but he’ll be lucky not to be knocked out cold. Sooner or later one will land on the perfect spot. Say all you want about bone density, he is a man.

One saving grace for him is that there aren’t too many dangerous men for him to fight. I don’t think Usyk would stop him, Joshua if he could get him early, Fury maybe and Wilder. Could see a clumsy wound up Whyte hook being the type of thing to eventually undo Joyce. As Frampton said on commentary Hammer was throwing them shots from the back of the room and Joyce still couldn’t avoid them.

His signature win is still Bryant Jennings from 2019 who was barely a top 20 fighter at the time.

Ray Mercer also had an iron jaw, but all of a sudden he became soft.

 

It is a pity that Joyce did not get more out of the victory against Daniel Dubois. It reminds me of Michael Watson who easily defeated Nigel Benn, but he never got credit for his great effort. History repeats itself.

 

He beat Dubois.

 

Warren promoted that fight too.

 

Usyk doesn`t need to stop him he`d just out-box him like he did in the amateurs, I feel Joyce could AJ`s power and maybe walk him down with his volume punching a better gas tank, AJ has never fought at that pace, Wilder would be the most dangerous for Joyce because of his one punch power, I feel Joyce can take any other heavyweights power.

 

So? And who had Dubois beaten at that point? Fujitomo?

Warren buying WBO rankings for his fighters doesn't actually mean they are legitimate contenders.

Bryant was a credible win outside of the UK scene. Dubois less so

 

He got plenty of credit, but how much credit should he get?

He beat an exciting prospect who was being rushed through the rankings. There are levels, and Joyce showed this to Dubois. Hardly warrants calls for a title shot

 

On paper Joyce could be the best of the post fury era British heavies…

I know, that was what I was trying to say. The longer the Joshua fight goes it turns into Joyce’s fight as he wouldn’t be able to live with the pressure. Usyk would outbox him yes. I was talking about something landing that could potentially be a big problem for him, as in a big ko where he’s not the same again.
