I don’t have Ali at 1 but he’s top 7 and an argument for 1 imo. Being the best Hw to ever live (most dangerous division ever) counts for something. When I think someone saying someone is overrated they wouldn’t put the individual in top rankings. So I suppose it depends on what your definition is.

I still think Tyson fury is overrated. He had a few good wins, not ATG stuff. Btw Deontay wilder is underated, he has a solid list of opponents in his resume. Gave a few rough fights for the great for this era Tyson fury.

This is how I rate the top ten in any matter I suppose would be agreeable/ heavyweight s, noone from the 2020s makes that list, not fury nor aj not Wilder. One from the 2010s however, could not rate his brother no room in the top ten for that.

My top ten atg hw list:
    1) Lennox lewis- could fathomly beat anybody in any given night.
    2) Muhammad ali- just the mere fact he competed at a stacked division at the time with quality proven wins.
    3) Joe Louis - the bum of the month club plus he's from an era I wasn't around for.
4)Mike Tyson - the kid dynamite, iron Mike
    5) Evander Holyfield - the real deal.
    6) George foreman- if he woulda lost they would be making Michael Moorer grills.
    7) rocky marciano- undefeated, undersized compared to today's bohemiths.
    8) joe frazier- smoking joe with the left hook.
9)wlad Klitschko - dominated for a long period, long championship reign.
    10) Larry Holmes - just his jab alone...

I go along with this. Not so much overratted in his prime years but in his post prime phase. Many still thought he could come back and destroy everyone after being beaten by moderate boxers.

I think Robinson is sometimes overrated in the sense that, for some fans and pundits, it's almost sacrilege that his position as all-time pound for pound #1 should even have to be defended or face any scrutiny.

I'm not quite as sold on Ruben Olivares as a lot of others are, either. Possibly Eder Jofre in some ways as well, while we're on the subject of outstanding Bantamweights.

He's not been retired all that long, but I've noticed that Wladimir Klitschko's talents and achievements are getting blown way out of proportion by a lot of commenters these days.

Then there are guys like Sandy Saddler and Carlos Ortiz who have fantastic records, and were clearly great fighters - but who I'm just never impressed by when I watch them.

Going further back, all of Jim Corbett, Jimmy Wilde and Georges Carpentier seem to get a bit too much credit in my opinion, to one degree or another.

Shouldn't need to say this, but some people have trouble grasping it: you can rate someone, or even rate them very highly, and still think they're overrated if your appraisal of them isn't as glowing as everyone else's seems to be, or if you think they get cut a lot more slack than other fighters for reasons you're not quite sure of. All the guys I've mentioned here were good fights. Some of them were great fighters, and some of them were even elite, historical fighters. But all of them get a bit of an easy ride at times from the fans and historians for my money, or just don't impress on film the way their records indicate they should.

One stands out from all the others ....Floyd Joy Sinclair Mayweather Jr. He made a better dancer than a boxer, He couldn't FIGHT!!! worth a lick, Had more "help" to preserve his bogus 50-0 than anyone else. Had everyone including the State Commission themselves watching his back Floyd Must Not Lose was the war cry.
On the other hand Muhammad Ali was incredible Remember he had almost 4 years in exile whilst in his prime wasn't even allowed to train. This was due to purely political reasons too. Imagine what he could have accomplished had he never been forced out of the sport.
For Me Muhammad Ali IS Was & Always Will be !!!!! The Greatest of All Time !!!!!!!

Foreman was more famous in the US at the time of his fight v Moorer, he was very popular and capitalized on this with his grill.
