I especially liked the subtlety of catching right hands with his face...however I'm sure I missed something that he was doing there that you picked up on
Yeah I would put him at 5, I think he has earned that. He is clearly a level below those 4 however and loses convincingly to all of them in my opinion. A Hrgovic or Ruiz fight would be fun, I'd like to see that. I like Joyce and think he is great for the division and for boxing. Consider me a fan.
Resume and head to head are different beasts. I rank Joyce ahead of Ruiz specifically because I think JJ beats him, and due to the awful showing against Areola who has been shot for ages. I do think it would be a really fun fight though with a clash of styles rarely seen at HW.
The difference between Joyce and Ruiz is that Ruiz is a proven heavyweight, not an overhyped prospect in hypothetical matchups.
I was looking forward to the Parker fight and given that he was already in camp working towards this past weekends date, it made sense to get out and stay active. Can't see the Parker fight happening now given that Boxxer / SKY have just bought into him and they are a rival promoter / network but yes, he needs to be involved in those type of high level fights now. I'd personally like to see Joyce v Dillian Whyte next.
That would be a good fight. If Whyte and Warren can work together. I'd also be more than happy to see Joyce target the winner of Pulev v Chisora.
He'd batter Wallin. Prime Hunter would be a good fight but not the current one who got beaten convincingly by Jerry Forrest.
I'd say there has to be more chance to Whyte linking up with Warren again to make that fight given they've now worked together for the Fury fight. It certainly has to be more likely than beforehand anyway? But yeah.... certainly a good fight and one I'd definitely tune into. Not so keen on the Pulev v Chisora winner. Whilst I think Joyce and Chisora would be a fun fight.... it's two fighters at the real tail end of there career and how much credit amongst other things would Joyce get from it? As has already been said on this thread, he's not exactly a spring chicken so he needs to be in big meaningful / relevant fights. So for me that is the likes of your Fury, AJ, Usyk, Whyte, Wilder Ruiz & Parker.
Joyce is basically Foreman but 2 inches taller and longer, 45 lbs heavier, with a fantastic engine and the ability to move well when he wants to. I've never seen a man built like that do a backflip, he's a freak of nature.
