Past generations are way overrated in every other sport the new generation would hammer the old generations it's simple genetics boxers are way fitter better trained and simply better than the past

I really hate when these past era fanboys are saying that their favorite fighter will dominate 21 century, altough he had a **** defence.

Would Andre Ward survive the era of 100+ fights? He retired at 32 with 32 fights.

Fitter are you kidding me? These dudes fight twice sometimes once a year and need a three month training camp to prepare for a fight and most cant even fight twelve hard rounds.

Compare that to those guys who fought almost every month and were always prepared to fight. No three months training camps didnt need to rest for half the year and were rarely injured.

Better trained and fitter my ass.

If you look at alot of records they were fighting scrubs every month SRR record is full of fighters who were 0-1 0-11 even making there debuts boxers now probably have tougher fights in the gym sparring

^ This! Can't believe people who fight MUCH less and show worse skills are somehow better trained and in better shape, with more skills, than guys who fought frequently.

They needed the money, so had to fight much more often. There was also a much bigger fanbase back then, creating more demand.

needs weren't the driving force to fight often. The result is guys were fighting more often. That will keep your technique tight and the fighter in excellent shape.

I'd bet needs did cause guys to fight over a hundred bouts and end up zombies.
