It wasn’t too bad but his speed allowed him to make it to the top. Once at the top his skills and chin could not hold up. I think his biggest mistake was leaving Roach.

Bad for the elite level but not horrible on the lower levels of boxing.

Khan's chin wobbles on turbulent flights.

Whether or not you think Maidana improved what has that got to do with Khan taking Maidana's power ? The fact is Khan survived getting hit flush by Maidana numerous times and stayed on his feet. It's not like Maidana was a powder puff hitter vs Khan, and then suddenly developed power vs Mayweather. Maidana always had a high KO ratio, and Khan deserves credit for taking Maidana's punches.

Khan's problem was more about having a low IQ, that along with his type of chin is a bad combination.

Agreed, vulnerable due to the fact of being over confident & pretty predictable especially after landing a combination or too, never knew when to lean & when to release which would constantly leave him open,

Khan would somehow end up forgetting his own weaknesses like you would think at least by now he would be more familiar with his own anatomy & be more cautious regarding his chin & legs,

He would constantly ignore his defence, which had me remembering his fight with Samuel Vargas in particular when he hit him buzzing/dropping in the process & then immediately thinking his opponent is done for while his fan's cheered loudly he would then get over hyped like an amateur forgetting his fundamentals while paying the price, mostly due to not having a great IQ to begin with.

lol, because khan coudnt take maidanas' power. Khan spent the last rounds hugging and running for his life, while a clueless maidana followed him in straight line trying to punch him and failing.

Roberto García's maidana would have cut the ring to khan and would have killed him right on the spot. And dont tell me that garcía's maidana couldnt cut the ring to khan, because if he could cut it to mayweather it's obvious that he can cut it to khan too.

Watch maidana vs khan, and then just after watching it watch maidana vs mayweather. They dont look like the same fighter, the job garcía did was AWESOME. That trainer is a hell of a trainer.

You make good points and you maybe right that Maidana would of finished him off, but Khan still took flush shots off Maidana plenty of them without going down. So he deserves some credit for that considering he's known to be a chinny fighter, and for the first 9 rounds it was a very good performance from Khan.

Yeah you have to have heart no doubt, though to be fair he also went to fight Canelo when he should have been fighting Brook, Khan knew very well that he couldn't defeat Brooke so instead he took that Mikey Garcia route "fighting the guy in the higher weight class" with the guaranteed high purse rather than fighting his expected contemporary,

By the way he wasn't winning that fight, as a few people have stated over the years, watch closely as a second viewing would suffice & even then after getting knocked out by Canelo he gave Canelo no props while complaining looking ridiculous saying Canelo was too heavy as if that was the only reason he beat you anyways, so he just hoped to beat Canelo & get over praised but when he lost he wouldn't give Canelo anything himself shows you how Khan's brain works,

I mean you knew Canelo would be heavy coming into the fight & now you're acting all surprised that you got Knocked out as if that wasn't the expected outcome to begin with,

Khan was at it again with his false send of thinking he was actually really winning that fight, while Canelo was in high IQ Mode just so often tapping him until he found that right spot, till this day i believe Khan still hasn't realised this.

I honestly think that if Khan had had an iron chin, or heck, even an ordinary chin, he could have been great.

Instead they assigned him a talcum-grade extra soft mandible with the spring action that blows little bits out whenever its tapped.

How bad was Amir Khan's chin is irrelevant, how big was Amir Khan's balls is the real question.

Khan vs. Kirkland. Who's glass jaw gets shattered in that one? Instinctively I want to lean Kirkland just due to him being the bigger fighter, puncher etc. but his chin is so bad that even a lower weight opponent who was never a particularly big puncher has a solid chance of shattering it. Would not rule out an Ishida like scenario in this one.
