Philly, here's how I had it:

Salvador Sanchez v Azumah Nelson (featherweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 2: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 5: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 6: 10-9 Sanchez
    Round 7: 10-8 Sanchez (scores a knockdown)
    Round 8: 10-9 Sanchez
    Round 9: 10-9 Sanchez
    Round 10: 10-10 Even
    Round 11: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 12: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 13: 10-10 Even
    Round 14: 10-9 Nelson
    Round 15: TKO for Sanchez

Total through 14 completed rounds: 135-133 Nelson (actual scores: 133-132 Nelson, a 134-131 and a 135-131 both for Sanchez)

The 13th round was a tough one to score depending on your criteria. Nelson was taking the round with a lot of eye-catching flurries but Sanchez was digging to the body well. I would have given the round to Nelson (like Larry Holmes did) but that last left hook that almost dropped Nelson swayed an even round on my card. Although I had Nelson up, if he had survived the 15th I would have had an even score and Sanchez would have retained it on a draw. But a moot point as Nelson was in severe distress and the stoppage was correct. A real valiant effort by a relatively professional novice.

Victor Galindez vs Eddie Mustafa Muhammad

    1 Muhammad
    2 Muhammad
    3 Galindez
    4 Even
    5 Galindez 10-8 knockdown
    6 Muhammad
    7 Muhammad
    8 Muhammad
    9 Galindez
    10 Muhammad
    11 Even
    12 Muhammad
    13 Galindez 10-8 1 point deduction
    14 Muhammad
    15 Galindez

    143-142 Muhammad

I felt Muhammad was hard done by in this fight, yes it was a close tactical fight. With both men showing alot of good defence, neither man threw alot of punches, but atleast Muhammad was consistently working behind his jab and landed a few eye catching right hands, also what in the world was those 2 point deductions in 13th round ? Muhammad got hit with a low blow and retaliated nothing wrong in that, and he gets 2 points deducted for that ? and considering the judges scorecards were 147-145, 148-147, 147-146, them two bogus point deductions ultimately cost Muhammad the fight.

Edited scorecard after being informed by @scartissue i was wrong about point deduction.

George, I happen to check this out today and then checked the history on this bout and saw you watched this too. Although we're at two ends of the spectrum on this one, my man, let me just say that there were many close rounds. I do agree with you on one thing though; Good fight. Like an old fashioned cross-town classic.

Doug DeWitt v Robbie Sims (vacant inaugural WBO middleweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 2: 10-9 Sims
    Round 3: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 6: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 7: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 8: 10-9 Sims
    Round 9: 10-9 DeWit
    Round 10: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 11: 10-9 DeWitt
    Round 12: 10-10 Even

Total: 118-112 DeWitt (actual scores: 116-112 and 115-113 both for DeWitt and a 115-113 for Sims for a split decision for DeWitt)

Again, this was like a good old-fashioned club-fight, only with a belt to go with it. But on its own there were two honest competitors who gave a great account of themselves. Good fight.

I know, usually George and I are on the same wave-length, but every so often a fight will creep in that throws everything awry. But it's as I said there were some close rounds. Would love to see a few more cards on this.

I would point out, I am a massive Robbie Sims fan so maybe I was a little bias.

I would recommend that everyone see Sims' bout with Duran, which was outstanding. Also, I recently watched his bout with Tony Chiaverini, which I didn't know was out there. Check that one out when you can, George.

Was curious about this bout - never saw it before - while discussing it on another thread. Here we go:

Pernell Whitaker v Andrey Pestriaev (12 round eliminator - no title at stake)

    Round 1: 10-9 Pea
    Round 2: 10-9 Pea
    Round 3: 10-9 Pea
    Round 4: 10-9 Pea
    Round 5: 10-9 Pea
    Round 6: 10-10 Even
    Round 7: 10-9 Pea
    Round 8: 10-9 AP
    Round 9: 10-9 Pea
    Round 10: 10-9 AP
    Round 11: 10-8 AP (scores a "knockdown")
    Round 12: 10-10 Even

Total: 116-113 Whitaker (actual scores: 115-112, 115-113 and 114-113 all for Whitaker. Note: Harold Lederman also had it 115-112 for Pea)

I still don't know what Whitaker was doing in that 11th where he decided to squat then end up outside the ropes, but the ref James Santa was a no-nonsense ref who was not awed by the Whitaker name. I actually said to myself, "Hey, Pea, you don't have Al Rothenburg in there now." Anyways, although Whitaker deserved the verdict he tested positive for Coke and the fight became a ND. Not a bad fight though. The styles gelled for a good contrast.

    Roberto Duran vs Iran Barkley

Round 1: 10-9 Duran. It was close. was leaning Barkley until the big overhand staggered him.
    Round 2: 10-9 Barkley
    Round 3: 10-9 Barkley
Round 4: 10-9 Barkley. Great, close round.
    Round 5: 10-9 Barkley
Round 6: 10-9 Barkley. Close. gave it to Barkley on volume and that jab. Some nice left hooks off that jab too.
    Round 7: 10-10. ATG round.
Round 8: 10-9 Barkley. Close but I gotta edge to the blade.
    Round 9: 10-9 Duran
Round 10: 10-9 Duran. His best round so far.
Round 11: 10-8 Duran. Legend stuff.
    Round 12: 10-9 Duran. Close.

    My Score: 114-114 Draw

Judges Scores: 116-113 Barkley, 118-112 and 116-112 Duran for Duran SD win.

One of my all time favorite fights between 2 of my top 5 favorite boxers. This time I scored it as a draw though I know in the past I've scored it for either of them. 6 or 7 rounds that could have gone either way. Great stuff.

Edit: Honestly even though I think a Draw or win for Duran are fair it's kind of a shame that Barkley didn't win this fight. It could be the best fight he ever fought, and a win maybe gets him in the HoF.

i'm running through Rummy's 50 must see fights (most of them) and scoring them so that's probably why they're all so beloved. gotta say, the list does not disappoint.
