I had no particular fan base or non fan base in mind. It was just a statement of belief.

Yea but he’s nothing special in terms of boxing. He lost, accepted it graciously for the most part and didn’t make an ass of himself.

I never watched the fight, but I also had Magsayo losing very close to Rigoberto Hermosillo, so for me this is justice in what has been seen as a close fight.

Most fighters would be in the same bracket tbh. They just don't bother dealing with backne down in Mexico. I've seen Cuadras, Elwin Soto, Márquez and now Vargas have some of the worst cases of backne in the sport.

Most people think Vargas won it and you're referring to the Pinoy biased guy as proof for your scoring towards Magsayo being legitimate. Hamburg is known for putting in some of the worst cards on RBRs too so a really bad pair to rely on as backup there. I'm not saying it's terrible to score it to Magsayo, it was a close fight, but you can't slate people for having it the other way when it very well could have been.

Very good victory by Rey Vargas. I dont care about what people say after russel's fight, Magsayo is a very very very good and dangerous fighter.

It means that Vargas is ready for featherweight (it wasnt clear to me), and that he can face any challenge in this weight in good conditions.

Looking forward to watching him fighting in his next challenge.

His next fight is also tough, vs Fig. Arguably his best two wins will be back to back.

Figueroa vs Vargas sounds like a cumfest for me. I just know that Fig will force a great fight out of this matchup no matter what. Even if Vargas is moving aplenty that relentless pressure will catch up with him and he'll have to trade.

    Tough luck for Marky Mark.

This is probably the first time in almost 20 years the Philippines are without any current champions. Nietes could change that next week though.

Was never high on Magsayo. All things considered he did well considering i was on the line he would get stopped and dominated by Rey Vargas. As it turned out his stamina was on point. He hired a nutritionist for the fight and it seems to have improved his conditioning. Even scored a knock down. But the other weak point low IQ and one dimensionalism that seems to be still lacking. You either got it or not etc...Had Vargas on a back foot and at times running. With El Caliente. Nacho Beristien in the corner. I thought Vargas would have too much "JUICE" for Magsayo lol.
