Okolie loyalties should be with Hearn. The fact he has got him to this stage with such a horrible style of boxing is credit to Hearn.
The **** was born in Hackney and his parents in Nigeria, going on like his bloodline is straight off the cotton fields of some plantation in the Deep South…
To be fair to Okolie I seem to remember Barry Hearn referring to himself as slave master. It's just business.
People moaning about a boxer and claiming he should remain loyal to a promoter is utterly laughable. Posting things on Twitter is just pathetic, but it's the bog standard for this day and age. Still, boxing fans pretending to be in the privy regarding contracts is just stupid. But there are a few "I know X, Y and Z" gimps on here.
I have no problem with a fighter refusing to honour a deal if they have been screwed previously with purses but this ain't that. I'm not sure why okalie is so against having his last fight then moving on. 1 more fight doesn't kill his Boxxer deal. If anything this kind of behavior will not go down well with Boxxer and Sky.
You really think Boxxer and SKY care? i am certain they are pushing this myself If he aint happy then yep, do what you can to get the deal you want Why wait for one more fight? worse case scenario he could die in that fight so sod waiting However the race card needs to be ripped up, and Okolie should have the offer withdrawn from SKY for that crap
Unprofessional behaviour. Hearn has made him even though his style is shite tbh. No problem with him leaving but just fulfil the last fight on your contract and move on. Not hard.
In that case contracts means nothing then. Why stop at Okolie? All fighters could die in there next fight but they need to honour agreements unless terms have been breached. A promoter has no incentive to invest in a fighter if the same fighter can just go elsewhere whenever they want. Should Adam Azeez be able to say fcuk "Ben Shalom I have a huge offer from Bob Arum and Eddie Hearn and I want to sign one of those deals"?
Who knows if they are stopping at Okolie? I certainly don't and i doubt you do either And they certainly do not "have" to honour anything Life might get uncomfortable if they don't but if they see a better future they are entitled to try it on And i don't blame them one bit, would Hearn or another promotor be loyal to them if their value plummets?
Honestly cannot get over excited about this on either side. This is boxing. Let them settle their differences quietly.
