He was the most dangerous LHW circa 2015 - no question. But in 2015 Canelo was just stepping up to MW, so I don't think Canelo was entertaining jumping up 2 more divisions at the time.
This thread was made prior to Bivol vs Canelo to illustrate how dangerous Bivol was for Canelo and the likelihood of him losing. It was illustrating that a shot version of Kovalev was nowhere near as tough as a fresh Bivol.
I think Bivol wins. Kov was very unmotivated for the Canelo fight. The Kov from the first Ward fight is a totally different beast and I think he beats Bivol, maybe by KO.
So basically you are saying Canelo did like Eubank jr and picked a former elite when they are completely shot, like Eubank did vs Degale and Abraham. Then later he fought the light heavyweight truth in Bivol. The other truth is Beterbiev of coarse.
Bivol is more upright and sets less traps than Kovalev, however if you want to compare two elite level jabs then both of these fighters are great examples even if the technique is different.
Perhaps. I like to think Kov just wasn't motivated anymore. If he had beat Ward, I think he would have been a better fighter. No way Canelo beats a pre-Ward Kovalev.
his phone number? .. are you for f****** real .. the guy got shut out barring a couple of rounds lol reaching now..
