    Sullivan had a pro record of 46-1
    Ali had a record of 56-5.
    Why is Ali ranked above Sullivan?

    Maybe cause:
    - he ****ing sucks by comparison;
    - cause he fought over 130 years ago and didn't even know how to hold his hands up properly;
    - he would even get beat by an amateur nowadays.

    Is that so? What film do you base this assessment on?

    I assume you rate Wlad and Tyson Fury above Ali?

    I don't need any footage. He fought pre 1900, that's all I need to know. All boxers from that era suck by comparison to modern ones.

    Ali’s also ranked above Brian Nielsen who’s 64-3 ( the same as Louis more or less). Go figure.

    Achievements wise, no, although they both have had a great career.
    But I see them both beating Ali.

    Then why don't achievements matter with Sullivan?

    Won't work. Sometimes Ali fought with his arms at his side.

    I used to have fighting footage of John L and Greb on an old VHS tape - unfortunately the Mrs “accidentally” taped over it to record an episode of Dallas - I think it was the one that revealed who shot J.R. Iconic stuff. Fair play I guess.

    Based on the zero film you have at your disposal. Blackburn taught Louis everything he knew, Louis was as picture perfect as any boxer to live, that cannot be taken away from him and it was given to him from a style that predates the 1900s.

    John L hilariously KO’d someone’s manager I forget who while scaling some hefty poundage I believe 250-270lbs @apollack book mentioned it in the first volume of the Johnson books. I wonder how much fire the fellow had left after Corbett.
