Yes it would have been much better to let Whyte fight somebody like Tom Schwartz instead.
I would have been really excited for that one.

    Calm down, hater.

Those are way more credible than Tom, and you know it.

I’m not arguing at all that Hearn isn’t a good promoter - he is, and he can make a star. What I am talking about is picking someone from scratch or just a few fights and making them into a Champion. The other fighters all got bigger under Hearn but they were all quite established already.

Froch’s profile under Hearn got a lot bigger I’m not arguing that. But he was already an established fighter - a genuine world champion with a good pedigree. Hearn took him when he was already champion - he didn’t build him up.

The difference could be compared to a road barricade comprising either Walker's crisps or Golden Wonder. All utterly hopeless, and you know it. But with Joshua's **** poor record you're left clutching at straws.

Safin is a Fury bummer. Probably set drinking his Furyocity energy drink making venn diagrams on why Sefer Seferi is better than Joshua's opponents.

What I personally dont understand is why Eddie Hearn is not ready to pay higher purses to the boxers ? I thought he would be able to retain many boxers thanks to the many billions and millions from DAZN but when you talk to Matchroom boxers many of them feel that they are poorly paid. I can well understand when they have the opportunity to get on Sky's platform and at the same time make much more money, it's a "no brainer". Where does all DAZN's money go ?

Any examples? The only grievance regarding money in recent years I can think of was BJS and it was pretty quickly retracted.

Worth noting the UFC pay their fighters fook all and Hearn has openly admitted he’s trying to copy the UFC model.

Not on boxing anyway. Hearn's biggest mistake with DAZN was the boasting about his massive budget. It might well have been a 10-year plan or something similar but just like with football teams and transfer budgets, fans expect it to get spent quick.

He claims he overplayed to break in to the US market and doesn't feel he needs to anymore. I think he is struggling in the UK massively, he is still arguably number 1 but with how things are going he will fall behind Boxxer within the next 18 months. I know some may already consider him behind them, I don't think he is there yet.

    AJ isn't retiring.

As for letting fighters fight dangerous opponents. Do you want competitive fights or not?

Why do boxing fans disapprove of fighters taking dangerous fights? It's baffling. When fights are made and the opponent is poor people moan, when a fighter loses against a dangerous opponent people moan.

MMA doesn't have this issue as fighters losing in the UFC isn't seen as a disaster, losing is part of the game.

I dont want to mention any names, but many of Matchroom's boxers feel that AJ and Conor Benn are getting too much attention and are overpaid by Eddie Hearn.
