Yeah it seems like a downard spiral ever since Pac retired. Ancajas, Donaire, and now Magsayo just lost big time and I just can't see Nietes winning. Sad to see no Filipino champs at the moment but it happens.

It's the same with Panama where they had so many champions and great fighters back then and now there isn't much at all. Boxing is prevalent in the Philippines and I'm certain that another champ will come around. It'll be awhile until we get another superstar like Pacman, that's for sure.

Australia had a title drought ever since Kambosos got beat by Haney.
Another champion will come around at some point. It's not gonna be the end.

I wonder who would win — China or India.

Looks like 2022 has been a pretty bad year for boxing in the Philippines. Was on a downard spiral after Pac lost and retired last year. Ancajas, Donaire, Magsayo, and now Nietes have lost big time this year. Donaire and Nietes were great champs but age has caught up to them and I doubt that we'll see both of them fight for a title now. I honestly never saw anything great with Ancajas or Magsayo so I won't hold my breath on them becoming championship level again.

Tough year overall for the Philippines not having anymore champions at the moment but I'm sure one will come around at some point. It's gonna be a long time until we have another Filipino superstar like Pacquiao.

It's sad that Casimero couldn't keep his **** together, but it wouldn't have mattered much anyways because Inoue would have destroyed him. I'm pissed that he robbed us of the Donaire fight and delayed Inoue's climb up to 122.

No one really in the horizon for Filipino boxing as well.

And I think Pacquiao Jr. lost his last amateur bout and he hasn't exactly exhibited raw talent that can be refined.

I think Pac provided more inspiration, motivation, and determination than we thought just by being in the game.

Donaire can still take over 118 after Monster moves up. And I think if he's motivated enough to make weight, he'll wipe out 115.

Oh yeah I forgot about him as well. He's really not that good and his trash talking and antics are the only things he's got going for him. He can't be relied on and Filipinos don't want someone like him as the only fighter to look up to

It's bad news, hopefully the nation doesn't lose interest.

Pacquiao has set the bar up so high and has gone in lengths that is unheard of. We should at least be grateful that we got to witness a fighter like Pac, a fighter that comes once in a blue moon. Boxing is forever privileged to have someone like Pac. He's been a source of inspiration for Asians, especially Filipinos.

At least we can take comfort with the fact that Pac, Donaire, and Nietes are a lock for the HOF. Pac and Donaire are ATGs and it's been a real pleasure watching them fight.

Casimero is a dangerous fighter and his power is real. I wouldn't say he's elite, but he's also not "not that good," if that makes sense.

I'm not even sure if he would have gotten past Paul Butler.

Boxing is a really popular sport in the Philippines. We've had champions even before Pacquiao made it to the scene. It's just a matter of time until another Filipino steps in.
