In terms of short term money this is the biggest pay day possible for both men in terms of overall career achievements and goals this is a bad fight for both men. Benn may struggle making welter again if he bulks up for this and a defeat could be a huge set back. He may end up having to campaign at light middleweight if he bulks up properly. Eubank has nothing to gain other than the obvious financial benefits in this fight and a loss could be devastating. Even if he makes a catchweight and wins, which is what I'd probably expect to happen, the stress the cut will have put on his body won't put him in good stead for future middleweight fights. Eddie Hearn must be getting really desperate.
Financially, Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn is at least 10 times bigger than Eubank Jr. vs Liam Smith and by the end of the day, professional boxing is a business. DAZN's main focus right now is to create big events and this fight fits perfectly.
The amount of part timers I've heard asking each other when Benn and Eubank Jr are fighting is worrying. Unrealistic non starter. On another note I see Broners got Figueroa next so he's off the list of Benn opponents. My money's on Might Mo Hooker, the career LWW with two recent stoppage losses
Just watched young CHRIS interviewed by a diary of the ceo on YouTube. Fascinating insight into the mind of the youngster. Anyone interested in the power of mindset and personal discipline, well worth a watch.
This content is protected This is marginally ahead of a youtuber fight. Going to either be Eubank so boiled down he hasn't eaten for months or a random catch weight where Benn will just get slaughtered? Sadly people will watch
I actually hope Matchroom go 100% into the YouTube styled fights and leave actual boxing alone. Would help undilute the pool
Hearn already stated the other day that he isn't in talks for Eubank for the Benn fight and that he is in negotiations with Connor Benn vs Thurman. Who is telling porkies? Hearn of Gareth Davies?
Going to cut Hearn some slack; his main problem is he talks too much. Something he says from the top of his head might be correct at that moment, but then time will move on and it'll be wrong within hours or days. If he'd just say less, he'd look more credible.
I can't unfortunately as it was just something I saw on a quick scroll through twitter and I can't find it now .. But loads of people are talking like it's going to happen so maybe it's going to happen after all. Strange strange fight.
