Joe would win easily in a fair fight with honest officials. Ward would win no rounds on honest scorecards. But with a dodgy referee like Jack Reiss and Ward being allowed to hold like an octopus, deliberately headbutt (like against Kessler) and low blow (like against several opponents), and the judges being dishonest (like in Kovalev-Ward I), I'm honestly not sure.
Hoe Cal-slappy abysmal resume clearly indicates he would never take this fight, and if he somehow found the courage to do so, it would be when Ward is way over the hill and around 38 year's old or older. As it happens, Andre Ward is actually 38 year's old right now and also 5 year's retired from the game. Therefore, this fight, even in fantasy land, would never happen.
It would be a very close fight, I'd favor Calzaghe because of his workrate and that ultimately would be the difference. I see it 115-113ish for Calzaghe, he definitely isn't gonna win 9-10 rounds against Ward.
This is a tough one. Ward can make it ugly, but I don't think Joe tires out. That engine of Joe's was no stop. Looking at resumes and accomplishments, Ward fought the better opposition. I see Ward taking it.
If anything Ward fights a little bit similarly to Hopkins who did very well especially considering his age.
Wards style is similar to Hopkins style except Hopkins took more chances. I have always thought Joe beats Ward by convincing decision.
OG MMA Fighter good one, in all seriousness being a consistent blatant dirty fighter deserves no respect.
