That not only doesn't back up or explain the comparison you made but it also could have been said by someone who's never watched a single round of McGirt

It's weird how underrated Pea's offense is. He wasn't limited like a Floyd on offense.

Great jab, very good combination puncher, sublime infighting technique, crafty punch variety. He just didn't have the power, raw athleticism of offensive behemoths like Duran, SRR etc. Skillwise he didn't have much of any holes on offense. Bud wasn't a "far better" offensive fighter at all. And Pea is miles ahead defensively.

When Bud schools someone like the legendary ATGs like Chavez and Oskee then we can talk.

    THIS.

Pea's defense is usually focused on, his slickness & "cuteness". What is often overlooked is his offense, as stated so eloquently above. He was, in addition to the above, a nasty, tough, old-school dude who, although he couldn't really punch all that hard, was very strong and could get physical inside.

He could be mean in there, to go along with all the clowning. In the Chavez fight, Pea got so mad at the low blows, he fixed a death-stare on JC that backed him right off, he had murder in his eyes

Cotto was at JMW, and the specific version of Manny that Floyd fought, wasn’t as good as Benitez.
