Theres no certainty in boxing. Yet you’re going on that Joe needed to fight Roy at a particular time. Lol. Joe beat Roy when they were older, big deal. Neither guy was prime. It’s no guarantee that Jones wins if they were. Let it go already. All I’ve said that it’s not a guarantee that Jones wins earlier. And you’re having a cow about it.
Calzaghe wins a comfortable decision for me, Canelo gets outclassed but still looks in the fight to some degree.
I said that Joe was giving interviews saying that Roy was running from him etc, and that he was desperate for career defining fights. Yet it was all complete BS, which was just to massage his ego in public and to starve off some criticism. Nobody would have had an issue with his WBO reign of Euro level fighters, if he hadn’t have whined in every media interview that he gave at the time. The point about fighting Roy in 2008, is the fact that he waited him out. That’s why he gets criticised. That’s what you’re overlooking. It’s not that they could only fight at that point. Again, Joe wouldn’t pursue him when he was still a great fighter. He wouldn’t go anywhere near him. He made sure that their paths never crossed. Then in 2007, he said that he wouldn’t even entertain fighting Roy, as he’d been a shot fighter since 2004. Yet the following year, he swerved a Pavlik fight, to offer Roy a 50/50 two fight deal instead. Do you understand this? The criticism is more than justified. I don’t care what you think may or may not have happened in an earlier fight. Joe himself doesn’t even believe that he’d have beaten him in his prime.
Nobody cares but Jones fanatics. Move on already guy. Saying Jones beats him in his prime doesn’t make it true or reality.
I can move on. But what’s the point in carrying on debating me, if you’re not going to acknowledge any of what’s been said?
I did. It’s all silly. You can’t prove Roy would win in his prime. It’s just makes people feel better about the actual loss to say it.
Mean why did an unknown SprMW with a weak resume need to move up to face a recognized top P4P fighter?? What on earth at the time did Joe C do to even suggest it was RJJ who should chase a guy BELOW in weight w/ an abysmal resume??
Look, there’s no point taking this any further, unless you want to discuss anything else that I’ve mentioned.
So again, based on knowledge, Judah beats Baldomir and Forrest beats Mayorga. Carlos Quintana never beats Paul Williams. Andy Ruiz never stops Joshua. Etc etc.
There was no point in discussing it in the first place. Tarver was never supposed to knock Jones out either.
