From what we know of Bob's "Kick '', who can we say he compares to?

    Bob Foster?
    Shavers?
    Hearns?
    Marciano?

If Bob Fitzsimmons was alive today, I would challenge him to a wrestling match, but I would want nothing to do with him in a boxing match. I am guessing he probably hit pretty hard for his size, at least as hard as Tommy Hearns, and possibly harder.

Pretty close to Jeffries if you trust the punch tests that were done.

Fitz was supposedly one of the hardest hitters in boxing history. RING ranks him #8 in it's 100 greatest punchers list. He developed his upper body muscles as a blacksmith. His legs were so skinny he wore heavy woolen underwear in the ring.

I once read that he was the hardest hitter of all time but I still dont think it would be enough to fare well against modern heavyweights like Frazier or Bowe. He might do better with a slapper like Ali

Fitz was probably one of the top 2 or 3 best punchers ever, maybe the best.

They looked especially good when he weighed in at 167lb

The evidence is insurmountable. One of the hardest hitting p4p in Boxing History.

Not really sure who hit harder of the two tbh.
I always saw Jeff as a heavy handed fella where as Bob was the "Bang '', Type hitter.

If you get my meaning, CT?

I'd imagine at his peak, 165lb weight, he could probably still got harder than a guy like Bob Foster or Bob Satterfield. So much smaller, with equal/better power than huge light-heavies and actual old school heavyweights. And two massive punching ones at that

More than Hearns, Foster , at least own level w Rocky and less than Shavers .. funny thing is during a Foster fight Don D. was calling it and said many of the old timers back then compared Foster to being like Fitz in style ..

I can imagine that, I can see Bob Fitz if around in later years, perhaps been a terror at light heavy

Really hard to say. I could tentatively say Foster but I’d be more than happy to be wrong and underselling Fitz. No doubt a terrific P4P hitter. Not that appearances always hold true but in the upper body he certainly looked like a fighter who held a terrific punch. Legend.
