That is a fair and valid point, but we are talking about the level of competition here fella, Dillian Whyte is no Bonecrusher, and Wlad was past it and in that fight they both proved their metal, but a prime Wlad would have ended it, it made for a good fight though. I do not question any fighters heart, as it takes a big one to get in there and they all get my respect regardless of who they are.
Well is Cummings any better than Whyte ? Cummings was just a fringe/journeyman type fighter. Your point is valid about Bruno losing to better opposition I'll grant you that, but I would argue Wladimir in Joshua fight, was actually still pretty decent. And actually let his hands go more often than he usually did and actually had a good go, and I would also argue if Bruno took same right hand in 6th round he would of been finished off. I just don't like people claiming "Joshua has no heart" and that's not directed at you per se. But I've seen it said alot in this thread, and I think that's an unfair comment. Considering Joshua has shown heart and comeback from adversity. And fans sure do like to kick a fighter when hes down, I guarantee if Joshua beats Usyk in a rematch people will change there tune again. As for this actual match up between Bruno/Joshua. It's a hard one to pick I lean towards Joshua, but theres no way I'd put a bet on it.
That is a fair and honest assessment fella, and i can not fault it. But this is boxing, and every opinion matters however much we all disagree, that is what keeps us all intrigued and at times get at loggerheads.. I just wish more folk would discuss things without all the hate filled nonsense, and respect others opinions.
lol klichko was blowing out his arse after 15 minutes he was buggered mate an old man out the ring for 2 year he was shattered theres a reason it was his last fight he was at end lol
I don't know if Bruno would, I think they're very similar. If Bruno took a fight with Ruiz jnr at short notice when he was training for someone else I think he'd have probably struggled too, that version of Ruiz jnr was something else, he just went for it and for guys like Joshua, as we saw, and Bruno that's hard to deal with, he was utterly fearless because he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Big josh went life and death with a shot to pieces coming off a loss retired old VLADD without a win in three years, never fought again. Bruno went in with Prime Tyson twice and Prime Lewis. Big Josh ran scared from a clinically obese mexican middleweight ffs. No heart, none.
Yeah exactly and also I love how people, who have probably never had single boxing fight in there life, let alone a professional fight. Can say a world champion boxer has "no heart". And wasn't Bruno visibly scared of Tyson in there 2nd fight ? Does that mean he has no heart either ? No of course it doesn't. Ruiz had quicker hands than Joshua, and was dangerous on inside. It makes sense Joshua would box him at distance, yes it was a boring fight but he still won 12-0. A "coward" won by a shut out.
I liked Bruno against Lewis, it’s my favourite performance of his. It’s the only big fight I saw him in where he showed no ounce of fear and wanted to literally beat the crap out of his opponent, finally a vicious Bruno. He was also determined and more focused than I’d ever seen him as well. I’d heavily favour that version of Bruno over AJ, controlling with the jab and landing huge rights. He ran out of steam later but some of those shots he caught Lewis with would have had AJ in worse trouble IMO. I also agree with other points made here, Bruno was in a tough era and facing all time greats, he was holding his own as well until his tank ran dry. AJ would have had a very rough time during that period. Wlad was his best showing but it’s almost like that fight wrecked him mentally, he blew his heart and toughness load in that fight.
This no heart talk comes from Floyd Mayweather Jr the greatest boxer of his generation and arguably the GOAT 130lber. Floyd famously said the three most important attributes for an ELITE level boxer are Brain Chin and Heart. If it went without saying that “all boxers have heart” then a man of Mayweathers legendary status wouldn’t have said it. on a scale of yes to no, big josh has no heart. NONE. He JACKED it against a feather fisted little obese Mexican middleweight who lost to Joey twelve Parker, then to put it beyond any shadow of a doubt, he ran scared for twelve rounds in the rematch against a sweaty grinning blob. The biggest display of shthousery ever seen in a boxing ring.
I'm no great Joshua fan, but how can you criticise him for winning - and clearly - within the rules? There's no need for him to knock everyone out or even engage in trying to. One could argue that given the physical state of Ruiz, getting on the bike was a wise strategy.
