Mr Hearn may be advised not to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia if they have the hump with him as there is the risk that he may end up travelling back in 2 suitcases.
Remember that incident where they wouldn't let WWE wrestlers leave the country till the issue with vince was sorted. Not surprised if sky not happy. They need to promote the PPV after going in big with bid. I don't understand why once sky was successful it was then not announced. Why the hold up with TV confirmation? Sky have every right to cancel the current agreement.
Well nobody forced sky to bid so high. Its not on Hearn if sky have oveebidded and then pulled out. Its not a good look for sky either as its quite unprofessional. Maybe that explains why AJ fights were pulled from the sky youtube channel. It was only two weeks ago people were saying Hearn was ridiculous for saying sky were prepared to lose money but now we have a rumour saying sky pulling out as not prepared to lose money.
Team Humble on the case sorting all this nonsense out. The undercard has been scrapped and Tyson Fury will be ringside wearing full Arab dress and beard at a modest cost of £100m.
And yet still no actual announcement as to who is showing the fight. Sounds like someone leaked Sky’s proposed bid before it was actually confirmed.
I started typing a reply but the story is way too complicated! Basically something went tits up at one of the Saudi shows, and while Vince McMahon and a chosen few got away in his private jet, the majority of the wrestlers and crew were stuck in a plane on the tarmac for something like 24 hours with them feeling that they were being held hostage and the updates they were given (plane needed refuelling etc) were not true. Basically even billionaires can find themselves in very dicey situations over there. There’s a good write up on it here: https://babyfacevheel.substack.com/p/heres-a-firsthand-account-of-the
And the Saudi's believed that Matchroom,/AJ/258 would sell something that they knew would make someone else £50m , more fool the Saudi's then .
I don't believe it but the lack of TV announcement one month out does tell its own story. Think DAZN have to find the money really
