Pedroza also beat Laporte. Also Rocky Lockridge twice. Beat Patrick Ford easier than Sanchez did.

I will say that Pedroza could have been DQd in the Laporte fight for flagrant and repeated fouling.

The scoring was also suspect in the first Lockridge fight

I think overall head to head Sanchez was a little better especially Chin.

I thought the 1st Lockridge fight was a fair win for Pedroza, Lockridge started out well but Pedroza comeback well in 2nd half and stole it by 1 point for me.

Watch his fight vs Patrick Ford that's his best performance IMO.

Eusebio Pedroza vs Patrick Ford although a good performance by Pedroza reminds me of the comparison between Muhammad Ali vs George Foreman leading up to their Oct 30 1974 title bout. Many said that Foreman would obliterate Ali based on Foreman's blow out of Ken Norton in the second round. And the fact that Norton lasted 24 impressive rounds against Ali, the second bout was questionable among the media covering that Sept 10 1973 rematch. As several talented posters have posted on this site, styles make fights. Ali beat Foreman blowing that theory out of the ball park. Ali did struggle against Ken Norton in their third and final match on Sept 28 1976, many thought Norton beat Ali, what did that prove? Salvador Sanchez maybe struggled against Patrick Ford, but what does that mean? We can never tell a book by it's cover, maybe an alert strict referee starts to deduct points from Pedroza because he has been warned and caught for fouling in a title unification vs WBC Champion Salvador Sanchez in a very close tactical contest, I do not buy it as part of his arsenal, it is wrong. It shows frustration and desperation. Sanchez was a very disciplined calm clean fighter who did not need to resort to such illegal tactics, he had a few close fights but always found a way legally to win. Again styles make fights, we may never know the outcome of this fantasy match. It is based on opinion or conjecture. Again also it is the quality of opponents vs the quantity between these two.

You should start with these fights to get an idea of how good Pedroza is as a fighter.

Would you also say that Bernard Hopkins, Andre Ward, Duran, W Klitschko, Holyfield, Saddler, Harry Greb fought dirty because they were frustrated and desperate as well? Pedroza isnt the kind of fighter to get frustrated and he would fight whatever way he can to win, whether people like it or not. Same could be said with the other fighters I mentioned.

Strictly your opinion buddy. I do not care for dirty fighters, no matter who they are. I respect your opinion but all I ask is respect mine, I call them as I see them, I am not blind.

I respect everyone’s opinion, it wasn’t meant to attack yours at all. I was just asking because a lot of great fighters have resorted to dirty tactics and it wasn’t as a result of being frustrated or desperate.

Well neighbor maybe that is in their tactics but it is not right, I have seen however Eusebio Pedroza back hand opponents as well as hit them very low blatantly, I cannot speak for the fighters that you mention but I am solely speaking of Pedroza. Salvador Sanchez never resorted to that type of tactic, he was cool, calm, and collected in the ring. I do not follow what others think, I march to my own beat in what I think. I cannot be a follower, never have been. I am stating my opinion, not expecting to change the minds of others, not my intention but I think Sanchez was more impressive, never heard of some of Pedroza's challengers except for La Porte, and Ford. And come off of it, a lot of fighters do resort to foul tactics when desperate and frustrated, you have to admit that you have seen that before.

I personally prefer Sanchez as a fighter myself and I’m a huge Sanchez fan. That being said I still think that Chava isn’t unbeatable and there are certain styles that I think he has a harder time with. Pedroza is the kind of fighter that could potentially trouble Sanchez. That’s just my opinion though. Even I have to admit that Pedroza, when he wasn’t fighting dirty, is a beautiful and smooth stylist when on form. He had just as much finesse as Sanchez.

And yes there are times when fighters do fight more dirty when they are frustrated. However, I do not believe that applies to Pedroza. He’s not always a filthy fighter but he was definitely mean, much like Wilfredo Gomez.

Your opinion is respected by me. But this comparison of Pedroza having an easy time with Patrick Ford and Sanchez struggling against him does not fly. Remember Muhammad Ali vs George Foreman in Oct 1974, many said Foreman would crush Ali because he crushed Ken Norton and Joe Frazier easily while Ali struggled against both, I did not buy that Hooey. Styles make fights. Sanchez did beat more well known fighters as champion. Sanchez for me on points as posted. I never heard of Cecilio Lastra, I thought he was maybe a female fashion model. I heard of Danny Little Red Lopez though. Lol.
