Sometimes a fighter just falls off a cliff, and it is hard to pinpoint where it happens.

Tyson was clearly still dangerous at the highest level when he fought Golota, and it would have been a nice last significant win for him, if he hadn't later failed the drugs test, in exchange for no practical advantage.

He arguably won the first round against Lewis, and although he ultimately got smashed, he didn't exactly embarrass himself.

After that he just went into the tank.

I often look at the Tyson Lewis fight, and think that Louis was right to get out of the game, after Marciano smashed him.

The next thing, would have been a loss to somebody like Rex Layne, then somebody like Cesar Brion.

Lennox didn’t need to take the money and step aside. If he wanted the fight he could’ve had it.

Then you have to ask who offered him the money.

Lennox hammers on about being all that and ducked, but he had the chance simple as that. I believe Tyson put him on the back burner to fight Evander Holyfield?

That seems to have been the reasoning behind it.

However, he didn't pay the step aside money.

That it was probably easier to pay Lewis to step aside, than to simply fight him.

What it says to me is “$” is king. Tyson wasn’t in it to be talked about years later, he was fighting for the cash, what is Lennox compared to Evander in the regard? Lennox on the other hand had every reason to refuse if he thought he could win instead Lennox *took* his cash and whined from the sidelines.

Oh c'mon Janitor. Lewis had a team of his own. This wasn't the first time he pulled this. Funny that Lennox Lewis is the only heavyweight (I might be wrong with the way titles have been handled since) to win the WBC title, twice, after going to court.

Yes - I never quite understood this version of history, which claims Lewis took step-aside money, instead of taking his chance to fight Tyson. It simply doesn't make sense.

It’s easy Prime VS Prime……. If Lewis fights like Douglas did he wins it’s that simple.

That's a big "IF". Lewis, nor Foreman, fought like Douglas. You know who did? Tony Tucker. Tyrell Biggs. Carl Williams. James Tillis. Larry Holmes.

    And Tyson beat them all.
