Joshua does not feel respected

    I want to share an Interesting interview of Joshua:

    ... and no wonder that he does not feel respected. He has disillusioned millions of his fans some of whom are here in this forum (me included) showing with Ruiz and Usyk a wafer chin, bad recoveries if rocked and low IQ ring. Can a real world champion have all these flaws in the eyes of the people?

    I remember when before Ruiz he was considered the new "God of Boxing". While now we are here to discuss if Wilder, or Ruiz, or Parker, or Hrgovic, or Joyce are better than him. And for many the answer is only one: "yes, they do".

    Practically from hero to almost zero.

    You just have have proper perspective. Joshua is a good Heavyweight. Not average, not very good or great. Just simply good.

    Nothing special about him. Hes a good ordinary heavyweight.

    Ordinary implies average. He's not average. He's still #3 in the world.

    He's miles above average, he's just not ATG level.

    Good but not God as Hearn has managed to make us believe for many years (before Ruiz punched hard his ward).

    Hes an ordinary fighter at the world level. Hes just your run of the mill good solid fighter at world level. Thus ordinary.

    We can respect AJ for fighting everyone.
    Trying to be a rolemodel and not having a foot in retirement constantly like Fury.

    I prefer him over Wilders antics and he is a solid heavyweight. Looks good, rich and became workd champion. That is admirable.

    Honestly though, Ruiz loss ruined his credibility.
    He had the world at his feet and was about yo conquer the US market before he got humuliated by Mexican Homer Simpson.

    The Usyk defeat burst what little he recovered by defeating Ruiz.

    Only way to salvation for AJ is to clearly beat Usyk. Beat Fury for undisputed and reign for a while.
    Also show some dog in those fights and be more real outside of the ring and less marketing branding.
    Than he gets huge respect if he craves that.
    Tough task though.

    It's truly a shame that the dude only has two losses, but people talk about like he's at the end!

    I hate to go on and on about the great old days of boxing, but this obsession with undefeated records is another thing that's hurting the sport. Fighters today aren't allowed to grow and learn, and this is one of the reasons why the skill level gap exists when compared to the old guys.

    Hey dude we're talking about a man who earned in his bizarre career almost 250 millions of bucks if you consider the 100 millions Arabians gave him for fight II when fighters much better than him in their careers got much less dollars. He has no need to be defended neither by me or you nor by none other.

    Yeah, i mean Hearn should have promoted him by telling everyone that AJ is decent

    Not great but just good

    I mean why not just leave a fortune on the table...

    He walked away from London 2012 with a gold medal despite losing half his bouts in those games and he's had the media fawning all over him and sucking up to him since day one and the ReMatchroom hype and PR machine in overdrive since the get-go. And he also has the luxury of having one of the most stacked decks in the game and being paid an obscene amount of money everytime he fights. He's a very good fighter who gets plenty of respect for what he has achieved.

    I don’t know why people get so triggered over a promoter doing his job.

    “But Hearn has fooled everyone into thinking he’s the best of all time”

    Like they expect a promoter to just turn up and say don’t bother watching the fight he’s crap anyway.

    I'm not defending him, I am lamenting the current state of boxing. I hope he earns as much as he can, it's a brutal sport in more ways than one.

    He hasn't had a good win since 2018 when he beat a 39 year old Povetkin after getting touched up quite a bit.

    His whole career is hinged on beating a 41 year old VK.
