Pretty sure with just a little help from my pal tyson fury i could knock AJ out myself This content is protected
I am no AJ fan - but c'mon. He would be a handful for any HW in any era - and would beat a lot of them. He will be (deservedly) in the HOF. An accomplished champ. But not an ATG.
Joshua’s problem is he only fights about once a year. He doesn’t have the experience to maximize his talent and the significance off his loses will naturally be magnified as he fights so infrequently.
Yes, sad. I see many talented boxers around today, and I think, 'wow, if this guy or that guy had a knowledgeable trainer and fought better comp, he'd be a freakin' monster'. Unfortunately, the shiny, spotless record is the focus and not the polishing of skills.
ANY heavyweight in ANY ERA ? He wasn't even a handful for Usyk and and the upper tier ATG heavyweights either school him like Usyk did, knock him out, or both. Him being a top 10 in any era is reasonable but beyond that is kinda wishful thinking
Yep I also am no AJ fan but he is seriously underrated on this forum. He gave Usyk a good fight IMO he was just beaten by the better man. Obviously favor Usyk to beat him again but I wouldn't rule AJ out completely. At heavyweight you have Fury and Usyk as the top 2 then AJ and Wilder so he is still no less than a top 4 heavyweight.
I've never seen Usyk's face marked up like it was after AJ. AJ can take this. He has a big puncher's chance
AJ is very good with an opportunity to be considered great. Yes he had a bad loss to Ruiz, but there is no shame in losing to an ATG in Usyk. What he do from here on will be crucial to how his career is perceived. Wlad Klitschko (Purrity and Sanders) and Lennox Lewis (Rahman and McCall) both had some very bad losses and made the proper adjustments to finish with Top 10 HW careers.
Wladimir Klitschko lost three times and thoroughly exposed a weak chin and then he retooled and came back to be champ for years and be praised by many of you right here. And then he was beat by Fury and Joshua (who got up off the canvas and KO'd him). So, can Joshua retool once again and climb back to the top? Why not. Usyk isn't the "god of boxing" everybody is making him out to be. If Joshua can get his head right like Wlad, he can come back. I hope he does.
Klitschko was old when Joshua beat him. A prime Klitschko would outbox and decapitate Joshua by the 6th. It would not be competitive
I tell ya AJ gets no respect. I mean Amir Khan's wife rang him and said "come over nobody's home". He went over and nobody was home!
