Respect is earned and he did earn a lot prior to the debacle with Ruiz. Fact is he blew it when the whole world, including America was watching. It was his US debut and he completely blew it in a big, big way, in an embarrassing way. Yes he won the rematch easily but that just shows how he lost focus for the first fight and how badly he messed up.

It took Lewis and Wlad a long time to earn back the respect, Joshua can't expect the critics and fans to just laud him with respect based on his recent failures. The Usyk loss was bad, it was him at his best and he came up way short.

But the rematch gives him the chance to show us he can evolve and improve or it will again expose his vulnerability to fast movers something that's been apparent ever since he robbed Savon at the Olympics. If he can beat Usyk he will regain all of the respect he lost, even if he loses in a competitive manner and shows some improvement and evolution of style it would garner him more respect. But if he's schooled again he'll always be seen as the 3rd best in the era and denied greatness.

Joshua is awaiting the hardest fight of his career and he should not pay attention to criticism, that's the only way he will have a chance to win, he should be maximally focused on the fight and nothing should throw him off track...

    That's why he will lose.

He thinks about other peoples opinions too much.

Why would lion care about opinion of the dogs ?

Lennox had 2 losses and fought everybody.
Joshua has 2 losses and has yet to fight Wilder and Fury.

LOL, what do you consider world level? Where's the cut off point -

    He beat -

    Wlad
    Povetkin
    Ruiz
    Parker
    Whyte

All of these people have been champions or have multiple title shots, and have been high ranked fighters.

He's not ordinary, he's a very good fighter, and miles above average, he's just not ATG level.

I love how you type that as if it's his fault he hasn't fought them?

He's arguably already fought someone better than both in Usyk, and could still win the rematch.

Wilder is a bum, and he will never fight outside the US, and I have far more reason to believe Wilder ducked AJ, considering the fact that he basically admitted he ducked AJ, and preferred to fight out of shape Fury for no belts. It's obvious why. He wanted a name as big as Joshua on his belt, but wanted an easier target.

Deontay Wilder, btw, has not proven himself above contender level. He hasn't proven that he's above Povetkin, Ruiz, Parker, Joyce level.

His greatest win was Ortiz, who almost KO'd him at 40 years old, and he went life and death to beat.

The Fury fight didn't happen because Fury and his team couldn't get their **** sorted with Wilder legally. Nothing to do with hearn and Joshua.

If AJ got to fight the people Wlad fought year on year he could have had the same respect as Wlad

I like AJ more than Wlad because he has slightly more punch variation although after getting chined he now freezes and chokes in close

At least we get to appriecete the gift of TF who can do everything and more. The gods of war made sure they gave him a relative power defecit so he could learn the art of war...AJ was gifted power early and flew too close to the sun before learning the art.

I dont care who ‘s fault was it.
Fact is him,Fury and Wilder are the top dogs of the era and he hasnt fought any of the other two.
It counts against him(and the other two) whichever way you look at it.

I hear ya but let’s not act like he didn’t try to fight Wilder. And I’m a Wilder fan and still believe Wilder would KO him. As for Fury their timelines never matched. The only time it will match is now after the Usyk fight. He just get a bad wrap and it’s disrespectful to say he’s average when he unified 3 belts.

Ranked by who? I don't give a **** what some random website says his rank is.

I care about who he's defeated.

    His best wins are -

    Ortiz
    Breazeale
    Washington
    Stiverne
    Spilka

You claimed he was a top dog, but what I'm saying is that he's not beaten anyone that would give him that status.

Besides Ortiz, Chisora would be favourite to beat any of those names, and Chisora vs Ortiz would likely be close.

Wilder is definitely a great fighter, but has he separated himself from the likes of Povetkin, Ruiz, Whyte, Joyce to claim a top 3/4 spot? I don't think so.

I'd rank him #4 at the moment, but only because everyone else in the top 10 hasn't done much either, but you can argue Whyte has a better win over Parker, and Ruiz has beaten AJ.

    Right now it's -

    Top 3 -
    Usyk
    Fury
    AJ

Below could be in any order really. No one has established themselves for a sustained period.

    Wilder - Best win ortiz
    Joyce - Best win Takam
    Ruiz - Best win AJ
    Parker - Best win Ruiz
Whyte - Best win Parker (Post covid povetkin is not a great win)
