https://boxing-social.com/news/joshua-buatsi-jean-pascal-negotiations/ Big step up for Buatsi in a fight I believe he can win.
I don’t know what Pascal has left approaching 40 and with one fight in the last 3 years. I think Buatsi needs to do a lot better than this. He should be a lot further along now than he is. Opponents like Pascal at this stage aren’t acceptable.
Should be an undercard fight but we all know it’ll be headlining DAZN’s only UK offering in a 6 week period in front of 4000 people at the O2.
I know Pascal is no spring chicken but in his last 3 fight he has wins over Fanlong, Browne (granted TD from accident head clash) and Jack (although Jack fight was close and debated). Going from beating his best domestic rival after C.Smith in Richards now to a legit top 10 LHW and a former world champion isn't bad. Becomes mandatory for the World title if he beats Pascal and would likely face an elite boxer.
On paper it looks decent but in reality pascal is now an old man who had barely fought for 3 years. Might go watch still
There's a lot of risk in this, a defeat sends him back a couple of years but I think if he has any aspirations of doing anything in the division he needs to take and win this with no controversy.
If he is as good as some make out he should be dealing with a old pascal Comfortably. Good name have on record aswell
the Mitchroom87 algorithm doesn't take age into account on RESUMES just the name, Eddie Hearns style. The only exception to this being Luis Ortiz because Wilder beat him twice.
In his defence that his first ever post that wasn't a Swipe at Fury or Wilder! Thats progress although he couldn't resist a swipe at Yarde, but it's baby steps.
Think this is a good fight at this stage for Buatsi..he’s not ready to get put in with Ruskie killers.
