This is a decent card considering Boxxer's thin stable. Azeez vs Pitters is the type of fight that should be on the undercard of all these types of events. I assume Docherty's fight against Costa got rearranged as it was supposed to be taking place on the Bournemouth card this Saturday Surely Liam Smith could have stayed at Matchroom and fought Israil Madrimov instead.
Smith was offered more money than Eddie/DAZN so I don't begrudge him moving. Short career and he hasn't got many years left.

It seemed like he was trying to prove how tough he was, he just refused to put his guard up never mind move his head or take a step back. Bit underwhelming this fight though. Especially after the Eubank talk.
Agreed he got significantly more. Was also told he would have one fight then get the Eubank fight early next year. Who is now about to sign with DAZN
His Sauderland deal means he will fight on any network but eubank isn't actually going to be exclusive to DAZN as he isn't a matchroom fighter.
Ah meh,. So the guy has a bit of a dig but that's about it. Beef is 33-34sh? So time is knocking on for another title shot, unless he's looking to Eubank and finish with some money in the bank... I don't see him winning a title again but I think he'd give Charlo or whoever a fair fight.
Vargas was his career best win in his last fight. I was hoping for one of the top 10 guys in the divison (which is a weak divison).
Yep, reminds me of Whyte who was eventually stung for doing this against Povetkin. At least he was usually earning the top PPV money for fighting in his boss’s garden. Smith is getting fractions of that and has already found out the hard way by getting robbed thousands of miles away in a fight that, had he won wouldn’t have made people really take notice anyway. It should be applauded in my opinion but you look at some terrible fighters getting looked after better and going far. He should maybe take a leaf out of his brother Callum’s book. He’ll happily wait and wait and wait no matter how inactive he is. Smith is one of the most talented we’ve had through that ‘golden era’ and now but he’s been badly mismanaged and put on back burners for more ‘marketable’ people. It’s a shame because real boxing men like people who are no nonsense and love a tear up. What’s not to like. It’s about catering for the Insta brigade though not fans of boxing. I guess you have to hang around with celebs and have a body builder physique to be promoted properly.
