You have a dream that you are in the ring with Sonny Liston of 1960. The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds, the winner faces champion Floyd Patterson who had just regained the title from Ingo. What would be your strategy to score the upset? In a sci-fi scenario, when you awaken, you are either a winner or loser, your win or loss counts in the history books.

I've always felt that I'd belong in the same ring as Liston - to shake his hand before the fight then get out before the first bell rings.

Can't blame you on this one, but let's just say you do score an upset, your victory would be real and in the boxing records. Imagine waking up as a former champion?

Why wouldn't you propose it as a regular "what if" (you could travel back in time and...) scenario though?

Anyway... I would try what any sane person not built like a truck would try - try to stay the heck out, sting him with jabs and an occasional 1-2 after he wildly misses, and hug him like a desperate octopus whenever it gets real hot.

That is not a dream, I'd rather be in a nightmare scenario with Freddy Kreuger than Liston

My strategy would be to activate lucid dreaming, give myself Superman powers and punch him out the ring.

I had a dream about being in a ring with Liston.
Then I woke up and apologized.

I'd definitely need some spare underpants.

For some reason my punches are always in slow motion in my dreams.

    That's bad.

On the other hand, I have the world's best chin in my dreams.

    That's good.

So my strategy will be to take about 10000 punches in the face until Sonny gets bored and wakes up first.

    A historic win!

I would put up the house through a second party for me to be knocked out in the first then go down with a "Phantom Punch" in the first and get paid!
