    My punches in dreams seem to have zero effect on who ever I'm hitting.. So frustrating!

    I posted this before but after I woke up in the ICU Unit following my open heart surgery on Jan 21 2020, the Technician who pulled me up in my bed bore an amazing resemblance to Sonny Liston, he gave me that menacing stare, then winked. I thought maybe I did not make it and was somewhere that I do not want to be. Again, I also thought it is just the Anesthesia, but the nurse in the room, she was older said she remembered that guy maybe from television years ago or something, she saw him giving me a mean stare. He did leave rather quickly. Anyhow I recovered, it was a Double Bypass Surgery, they replaced my Aortic valve with a plastic mechanical one. I returned home less than a week later, but that experience was strange to me.

    1) I’m glad you survived it. Our forum and its classic boxing fans are richer for having you with us.

    2) How do you know it wasn’t the ghost of Charles Liston come back to visit you and make sure you stayed around?

    3) And why didn’t you ask him: a) his true age/birth date and b) what was the truth of the Ali fights? c) And while you’re at it, did he happen to be in possession of any Harry Greb film?

    I should have asked him about film of the Harry Greb fights, the stare was bone chilling, then came the wink. The nurse just stood there frozen. But thank you Saintpat for the compliment. I have to take Warfarin, Entresto, and Carvaderol daily for Hypertension.

    In my dream, I throw a phantom punch and Sonny goes crashing to the canvas.

    Then I dream Cus D’Amato is so scared of me that he has Floyd Patterson vacate the title and it’s awarded to me.

    Before I have to make a defense, I wake up and retire undefeated.

    Well, they used to say if you dream that you have died,, you literally never wake again - because, to put it lightly, YOU DID DIE AND NOW YOU’RE DEAD!

    More seriously though, I’ve come awfully close to dying in some dreams but I’ve always awoken just prior to being snuffed out.

    My circuitry can’t handle dreaming that I’ve died.

    So I’m covered.

    If I beat Sonny in my dream, all well and good. My ideal scenario is that my punches will see Sonny Liston this way and that - I hope people see what I did just then.

    If however, it doesn’t go so well and Liston is about to lower the boom - that will signal imminent death in my mind which will then cause me to awaken immediately.

    I will live to fight another day. Rematch tomorrow night, at bed time. If l can last a nano sec longer than Floyd’s best - 2 min 10 secs to be exact , I will consider that to be victory enough.

    That mean looking stare that I recalled from that Technician who quite possibly was Sonny Liston, you would be experiencing with Liston too. Lol.
