Bivol is a demi god. He cannot be beaten. His ring IQ is unparalleled and his skill is impeccable. Andre Ward was good, but he would stand no chance. Subzero will retire undefeated and go down as a lhw ATG
he looked awful vs chilemba and most of this forum had it close. he won wide but didnt look great vs pascal he won razor close vs Craig Richards I wsee what people are doing finding Bivols best moments and Wards worst and saying thats why. Well I'll do the reverse, ward wom the super 6. and bivol looked like crap vs chilmba and richards.
Ward won the super 6 barely breaking a sweat. remember - Frochy beat up Pascal - and Kessler like a decade ago. Then made Frochy look like a fighter without any limbs.
if by beat up pascal you mean won a close fight with him then sure.. for what it's worth I pick Ward over Bivol. people werent singing his praises until he beat Canelo. He was getting a lot of hate for Chilemba and richards performances which were lack luster.
Bivol completely dominated Pascal and looked good doing it. He won at least 10 rounds The Chilemba fight wasn't remotely close at all and neither was the fight against Craig Richards. Some people seem awfully keen to score more rounds for his opponents than they actually won And Bivol was coming off a 19 month layoff against Richards This content is protected This content is protected
Ward would win as he is more skilful particularly on the inside and could pull the equaliser. Bivol should probably have stopped Canelo I think.
Bivol by a wide UD. He's got a similar approach to Kovalev in that he likes to fight at range, and as we know, Ward isn't the greatest ranged fighter. But his feet are lighter than Kovalev's and his hands are quicker. I think that he could shoeshine Ward from a distance for the entire fight. Yes, he's nowhere near the puncher Kovalev is but on the plus side his stamina is superb. He's not gonna gas and allow droopy dawg to tie him up and work the body. If Ward has success it will be in spots. The main flow of the fight will be all Bivol.
I'd favour Ward to win on points, I'm still not sold on Bivol...too many performances where he's disappeared for me to be all in on him.
Bivol is every bit as skilled as Ward but he doesn't use Muay thai to win.. or PEDS... & fk me even threads about ward are boring let alone his grab fests.. this one's terrible
I consider Bivol "skill for skill", to be the best light heavyweight I have seen, and perhaps the best fighter I have seen in my lifetime. I have never seen somebody box as accurately as him. The only thing holding him back, in my mind at least, is that he doesn't have exceptional power. If he were to lean up some and begin a more lift intensive routine, I believe he would be unbeatable to the past and present of his division. He doesn't have the athletic gifts of Inoue or the versatility of Usyk, but he is a machine at what he does.
Bivol brings two weapons into the ring, both of which legal, and he has zero fear of fighting on the road or in his opponent's backyard, and he wins his fights via clean boxing and he doesn't ask for, require or need any advantage, be it fair or unfair, at the negotiating table Ward brings five weapons into the ring, three of them illegal, and he categorically refused to ever dare fight outside the protective sanctuary of his homeland or do once what he expected all his opponents to do for him, and he wins his fights via the excessive use of illegal tactics and cheating and wouldn't dare sign on the dotted line unless he had every advantage that could be wangled wangled in his favour.
