Lennox is an ATG Heavyweight no doubting that but Mercer at least deserved a draw imo. Just curious here, while we’re talking about the ATG Heavyweight list how many others on this list never got up off the floor to win a fight ? I can think of Lewis and Tyson so far.
Golata was injected with lidocane due to knee pain. The lawsuit was against the Doctor that injected him. Golata was fined $5000 for allowing the shot. It had no bearing on his first round KO. And was just another incident of Golata being crazy.
He won a one million dollar settlement vs the doctor as he was impaired during the fight. Lidocaine can cause side effects such as drowsiness and nausea. I guess I should say that I can't say if he was impaired, but I will say that at the least it puts a question mark next to the win.
Ali got up off the floor to win against Cooper Foreman got up off the floor to win against Lyle Holmes got up off the floor to win against Shavers Louis got up off the floor to win against Braddock/Galento
The "got off the floor to win" or turned the fight around, was Teddy Atlas's way of trying to diminish Tysons ability/achievements. Just pure nonsense really. There's plenty of fighters who did come back to win a fight who were no where near the level of success or ability that Tyson had. Its definitely not the mark of a great champion. Hagler was beaten in a few fights. He did rematch 2 of them and won but he still lost those fights initially, does that mean Hagler shouldn't be seen as a atg. Nonsense.
Tell me which of these are overrated in your opinion. Genuinely curious how you think he has a weak resume. -Vitali -Tyson -Morrison -Holyfield (x2 - robbed) Avenged both losses with KO Even the "B" opponents he's beaten are impressive in their own right Rahman, Tua, Grant, Briggs, Akinwande, Golota, Mercer, Bruno, Ruddock
Where did I say he has a weak résumé? His record is not weak. He was losing to Vitali Klitschko and would have lost not for 1) a lucky grazing punch that almost missed, but shredded his eye from the friction and 2) the subsequent technicality. It had nothing to do with skill, the eventual result. Tyson was overrated to begin with and totally passed it . Morrison? lol. Holyfield - Past it.
