I honestly think most guys on here are too young to remember how good Conteh was that can only be the reason for everyone picking Kovalev

Most of the Ward rounds were really close and looked like he was fighting out of desperation. The kovalev rounds were smooth and clear, even got a kd. If there was a winner that night, it was Kovalev no doubt about it

Best version Conteh takes it but many versions of Conteh would lose to Krusher Kovalev. Kovalev was something else until Andre Ward took his soul.

you mean the judges took his soul, which is an idiotic phrase anyhow.

No Ward took his soul not the judges.

Kova lost before he got in the ring with Andre, all Andre had to do was make it to the final bell.

I picked Kovalev but thought the poll would be a little closer. Conteh was a talented, well rounded fighter, but an under achiever

Kovalevs prime was better than Conteh's prime. it was a load specefic question. if they asked Kovalev the day of the first ward fight my opinion would have changed a lot. as I feel kovalev wasn't in his prime there.

LOL, No one thought Ward lost more than Ward. Just watch the utter surprise on his face when they read the scorecards. Lottery winners look less surprised.

It was a very close fight with the verdict in the balance but he won after a sluggish poor start. He also took Kovalev the bully’s soul in the rematch proving he was both the better fighter and better man. Kovalev has never been the same since Ward. As Virgil Hunter told Ward in the first fight after the knockdown “Ali got up, Leonard got up, you got up. We know what we came for…” Absolutely inspirational.

Nothing hilarious about it! Shows the benefit of having a great corner. Absolutely inspirational as Angelo Dundee was for Ali and Leonard. Seems you might be lacking in historical boxing knowledge and perspective.
