Coetzee was a better boxer and less of a puncher than his rep, I'd offer. I think he is less of a threat to Larry in terms of a knockout but more competitive in a scoring/rounds sense and probably loses about like Berbick did. Good scrap, but two steps behind.

I thought Larry spanked Berbick people need to rewatch the fight. And a prime Larry would pretty much dominate Coetzee I think. Does he even have enough power in that bionic fist to knock Larry down? I dunno

Coetzee looked good whooping Snipes with the subsequent decision winning one mags award as robbery of the year. I thought he put up a fine effort against an in form Weaver too.

No-one gave Snipes any sort of chance but that was a HARD knockdown he scored. It's not far fetched to think Coetzee could present a good challenge, you yourself said he might knock him down. I'd take Holmes, absolutely, but it might/maybe/possibly be a good fight while it lasted.

I agree, Holmes was always vulnerable to sneaky right hands, there would be a danger for him against Coetzee

Tough one but Holmes seemed to thrive on tough ones when he was Champion, That Coetzee was dangerous, and a top heavy fought a great fite against Dokes. A modest Likeable guy -I met him , It will not be a walk in the park for Larry under any circumstances

Larry by TKO, anywhere from 10-13 rounds. And that jab will be blazing straight into Gerrie's face.

Berbick's weirdness/style flummoxed Larry some. But overall Berbick got schooled and spanked. Wasn't even near close.

I've discovered upon rewatching that fight in recent years that it's one of Larry's best Jab Symposiums.
