Well then, I wanna hear from the people who ordered the first 2 but now think it's too much this time, even though the cost is the same, or less.

Boxers need to be paid a lot, otherwise no fighter would take it seriously

The lengths you go to drain Canelo's balls dry lol

You're seriously criticizing people who don't want to pay for the PPV ? You love Canelo that much shadow ?

You can't be a real person. There's no way lmao

What? "Draining Canelo's balls" LOL where do you come up with this stuff? First of all, this payday is more important to GGG than it is for Canelo. So for people who don't want to pay for it, that hurts GGG just as much if not more than Canelo. I'm trying to understand the reasoning. Someone said it would only do 500k and people are complaining that it's too expensive. I'm pointing out that it's essentially the same cost as their first 2 fights, and $15 / $20 less if you're a DAZN subscriber. Now you wanna pirate the damn thing, you say you didn't order the first 2 fights. It just doesn't make sense to me for anyone to be complaining at the price when it's pretty much the same as the first 2 fights and no one seemed to have any problem with buying those at that price 4/5 years ago.

All those prices include a 1 month subscription, though.

Did you ever think that maybe at this point in time they just don't feel like paying that much again ? Think Shadow. Stop defending this PPV and get Canelos slong out your mouth for once.

I agree with you here. I had this conversion a little while ago on here. The counter was boxers would get paid less however I think although technically true it only applies to the top 1/2 %. It's not like the guys in the 80's were paid nothing but they were far better known with the general public than boxers today. I mean even my parents knew who Hagler and Hearns was and we even watched the big fights as a family because it was an event.

I think it's greed over time where that PPV model took over and frankly these days most of the cards just aren't stacked enough. I live in the UK and £20 is a reasonable amount I think. If I lived in the US I would probably stream it if I only wanted to watch the main card. If you were getting several hours of top fights it wouldn't be quite as bad. I think that's also another issue as well is the fact that people like Canelo will get a large chunk means that it's difficult to then fill the rest of the card with quality as there's only so much money to go around.

The problem with that business model is now they're too many providers so the punter is left having to subscribe to several streaming platforms at once in order to catch everything. It's not really that different with TV generally. it's not good value if someone is subscribed to 5-6 platforms just because a favorite show is on one platform and not the other

No idea why the US pay so much for ppv

There's absolute outrage over here that AJ vs Usyk is an all time high of £27

It's the same price that HBO charged for Canelo GGG 2. And you get 1 month of DAZN access.

LOL so this shouldn't be a PPV according to you? Is that your argument. It's arguably the biggest fight that could be made in boxing.

Bam Rodriguez and Gabe Rosado are on the card, both are big draws and have headlined cards in the past. So we are getting "several hours of top fights". Your narrative that Canelo makes it difficult to fill the rest of the card is overruled by Bam and Gabe Rosado fighting on the undercards. Canelo is making all these fights happen, his star power creates the events, but he needs a dance partner like GGG another big name to make this a big $$ event.

I don't know how much Canelo GGG 2 was in the UK, but it's the same price as this is in the US, $85. The reason why it's much less in the UK is surely because of when it is airing, not on a Saturday night but in the wee hours of Sunday morning in the UK. That's why it's less, but if it's still about the same price as Canelo GGG 2 then why are people complaining and acting like it's too much now if it wasn't too much before? If the answer is because HBO was better than DAZN, or it's more that people are already fed up paying $20 to DAZN every month. I'm just bringing it back to the fact that it's the same cost as it was 4 years ago OK.

Canelo and GGG have only gotten bigger since then, I don't see how you can expect DAZN to charge less than HBO did. Especially with them both signed to bigger contracts. I think it's also important to point out that HBO closing its doors to boxing is puzzling from a financial perspective. You would think that Boxing would be so lucrative for HBO that they would want to continue that revenue stream. Now people are complaining about the cost of a PPV for a fight with enormous interest that fans have been demanding for years!! Even though it's the exact same cost as the last time they fought, and they're putting on a stacked undercard.

I'm sorry but this is crazy. We're all getting the fight that we want and all people can do is complain about $85?? Instead of complaining, we should be counting down the days until the fight, we should be wanting to hit the order button for the PPV. Even though we have issues with DAZN, they still are the ones making this fight happening and putting on the biggest fight of the year. They still deserve our support.

Which brings me back to my original point, no idea why Americans pay that much.
