He was a WIP back then compared to what he became. Since GGG 2 (before Bivol) he's been pretty much dominating everybody he fought. And it's not like he's been fighting bums. He completely schooled Jacobs, put Kovalev to sleep, dominated Callum Smith a guy that many on this forum said would destroy Canelo. Some said Saunders would school Canelo. Canelo has been on quite the upward trajectory since fighting GGG.

When you start throwing around terms like "Obvious corruption for being the cash cow" it's hard to take you seriously. Everything about Canelo is blown completely out of proportion on this forum. The hate is irrational and born out of jealousy or envy. It has a lot to do with him exposing and beating GGG, something that much of this forum said would never happen. The fact is, much of this forum to this day cannot accept what Canelo did to GGG, and we're just over a month away from Round 25. So this is all very related to what's about to happen. You wanna continue with your "corruption" agenda, the legacy of these 2 warriors will be decided by fists and skill in that ring.

The legacy of the GGG v Canelo saga has already been tainted by either corrupt or incompetent judging.

Well yes indeed he has dominated but how many fighters the ability of Golovkin has he fought since?
I’d say a lot of it was also matchmaking.
In fact to your point in the next 18-24 months I think his decline will start,he has over 60 pro fights and is 32.That he wasnt prime with Golovkin talk is nonsense.
As is your obvious bias towards him. There is obvious corruption for him and he has everything stacked in his favour each and every time.
This is the same guy who had a 114-114 card in the Mayweather fight.
Or I suppose that was on the level ?

I didn't say he wasn't prime, I said he was still a work in progress. He wasn't seasoned like he is now. But it's a double edged sword because he's also older now. The way he fought that first fight against GGG was arguably his best performance, and it was a brilliant gameplan as well, but if we're talking his physical peak, I would point to that version, the version who fought Chavez Jr, or the version who beat Saunders.

    Eh,it s just a different wording.
If you are a work in progress thrn you arent st your peak.If you arent at your peak you arent in your prime so to say no?
Besides boxing does t work like that-most thought Fernando Vargas was still a eork in progress going into the Trinidad fight.Turns out what happened before that was actually his prime since that fight took a lot out of him.
Lately l,at least to me Canelo seems to comfortable as a human being and that is all well and good but bad as a boxer.Once you make money, are comfortable and turn off mentally you never get it back.
He’s also too seasoned if you ask me.

Problem is the first G fight was clearly a G victory.

2nd fight also, just not as clear and over time it seems to have become more accepted despite the outrage at the time.

Imagine what a prime GGG would do to a senior citizen past/way past prime Clenelo.

Now imagine he had a significant weight advantage too and he was jacked full of PEDs. It's a one or two round job for him.

But a heavily juiced Clenelo DID lose to a way past prime lighter GGG. He rag-dolled his ass in the first fight and administered a boxing lesson to him in the rematch and had Clenelo's trusty judges not been there to bail out him out both times he would be 0-3 against Eurasian heat.

You know what, one could make that argument. You could actually make the argument that Bivol has a better resume than Crawford and Spence.
