I think both fighters really want the fight to take place… Though Bud’s energy seems to have changed in his recent interviews. It may be that the negotiation process is becoming taxing for him…
No I mean both; Spence's overinflated drawing power is based on one moderately successful PPV with Mikey Garcia, a 'barely-acceptable' PPV number with the inexplicably popular Danny Garcia, and nothing else of note. Certainly, he's in a stronger position than Crawford, but to suggest anyone should break the bank for either man - even at the expense of the other - on top of all the other expenses this event will have is a denial of the economic reality of both fighters. How are two guys who respectively are not a draw to speak of and the other with only one truly successful PPV of note with consistently diminishing returns not worth the same money as the biggest draw in boxing? Hmmm, quite a mystery. Tell you what, you ponder that for a while then get back to me.
I don't think it will happen. Crawford needs to get back in the ring soon. The porter fight has been a while back now and he isn't getting any younger. Crawford v thurman would be the next best fight but I can't see that either. Ennis and ortiz are snapping at there heels as well

I do. The only relaistic alternative for each man is moving up to LMW, and one guy has every belt there. Between them they've cleaned out the WW division so short of Taylor moving up there's nothing worth fighting for there any more
Yeah, this fight ain't happening. Crawford fought Porter in November 2021 and has been a free agent since. He's had well over 9 months to sign with PBC, although he probably got laughed at and rejected when they found out how MASSIVELY overpaid he was by Top Rank. DAZN/Matchroom/Hearn hasn't mentioned wanting to sign him and that leaves... Golden Boy? TEIKEN? LOL! Spence will probably be relieved. It will be shocking if this fight comes off.
I think the fight happens this year. Also, Spence seems absolutely convinced. It's Crawford (And I'm a Crawford fan as well) that is being negative about it. This is what leads me to believe the hold up is Crawford's side.
Spence recently said that if it doesn't happen now, it will never happen. Seems like he's preparing to duck by money split and then continue avoiding Crawford for all time.

This is not a corporate merger where details need to be hammered out over 2-3 years.
