It used to but the fact the 26th ranked Super Lightweight in Britain is fighting for it on Saturday makes a mockery of it.

Tbf I don't think there was anyone else volunteering to get in there with Dalton.

Doesn't matter. A British boxer wanting to "get paid" doesn't need it.

It didn't take a page for this thread to start going down the "I'm right, you know nothing" path, can we just discuss like adults please?

It means a lot for me, especially when the belt is won outright, plus the title fights are more often than not, absolutely fantastic, and also plays it's part in local derby's, where the pride of raising that belt must be overwhelming.

I think it's a terrific achievement, especially in today's Intercontinental nonsense belts

It used to matter a lot to the fighter and the fans, some of the fights for that belt were absolute barnstormers and put most so called super fights to shame, sadly though with the money involved and all the different trinkets on offer it is shamefully being left behind.

It means a lot more to a lower level boxer than a top level boxer. I agree that due to the nature of belts its purpose seems obsolete in that it doesn’t mean you’re remotely close to the best in Britain.

Maybe there’s some nowadays who bypass it but think most fighters still think a lot of it. I certainly do, think of all the classic British title fights we’ve seen over the years. Best looking belt there is as well by a mile

They should make it mandatory to go through the levels. English(possibly?) --> British --> European --> World

Give the belt the respect that it deserves.
