I think this is how whole boxing world should be. all fighter should prize the regional titles & only (maybe ) relinquish if win the world title . not challenge , win!
    this makes real sense

    is bad situation .

British heavyweight title should be contested right now among these likes of boxers & multiple matches : Whyte & Joyce & Dubois & Hugh Fury & Bakole ( If he qualifies as UK resident) & Chisora . & Joshua if he loss rematch with Usyk. this
this should be prioritized as achievement to win & defend this title. & British title rematch also.

guys like Haye & Bruno avoided British heavyweight title. & behaves like they are levels above own country title. disgrace really.

I think a lot of people massively underestimate just how good you've got to be to win a British title. Which is why so many 'prospects' avoid it all together and go down the meaningless alphabet route.

    no its a good achievement.

its true youve got to be reasonably good.

Hence why not one single english-pakistani has (embarrassingly) never won a british title. They are never good enough.

Quite right, which is why Conor Benn for example, is "world rated" despite never proving he's the best in Britain.

That's why they should never ever offer him a world title shot.

    yes.
& a big part is because even heavy favourite in British title will have to give rival or champion same training camp & contract & conditions etc.

prospects prefer late notice opponent "TBA ' ' bring in finalize on few week with money payday offer. sometimes 1 or 2 week only.

but in match with British domestic levels champion with good training camp can be much risks for ' world class prospect ""

they rather get some washed import or name on slim notice & con public with less risks

Do you have mental problems? Khan did really well on the world stage. He would have bossed the British title.

I love British Title fights no matter what the division as you can see it means something to both fighters, either as a pinnacle or as a stepping stone to Euro / World Level.

Sadly though, like another favourite trophy of mine (until the QFs/SFs) The FA Cup, it has lost some of its allure, wrongly in both counts.

My blame is with promotors / managers of both sports looking purely at ££££ at World Level (Boxing) and Champions League (Footy), forgetting what actually made them successful in the 1st place whilst relegating a prime trophy / belt to being that of an also ran.

    A crying shame.

The best world champions we've produced will have had tough British title fights as part of their journey.
It is a fantastic belt and a real test of a boxers mettle.

Benn will regret not going down the route of the British title.

I remember the glory days. Ian Napa vs. Martin Power at Newham Leisure Centre for the British Bantamweight Title.

Overall yeah, just because a few silver spoons bypass it and a few undeserving whoppers have held it shouldn't mean it should be dismissed.
