I'd say a case could possibly be made for him, at lightheavy, having the hardest one shot Power.
Moore of course, is also a Contender.

    Thoughts?

I think, at his best weight, he’s a case for the hardest puncher there’s been. He absolutely brained people, he cracked multiple elite chins, he carried his power up - but does have few quality knockouts at hw. That does count against him. But he’s a freaky puncher. Weird, scary.

On balance, I would go with him having truly destructive one punch knockout power, not up for debate, running him a close 2nd and by coincidence a left hook, is Charles KO of Satterfield, granted Bobs chin was not of the granite variety, but nonetheless a murderous fight ending punch from Charles, who vies with Foster as to who was the biggest puncher at 175.
    Nice thread Fergy.
    stay safe guys.

    Spinks.

Of course, Foster hit extremely hard, that's not even up for debate I think.

His greatness is a different matter.

Saw him in person...defending his title in West Springfield Mass. in 1969 against Andy Kendall....man he could hit. Watch his KO's of Dick Tiger from 1968..and Mike Quarry in 1972...."OUCH!"

Foster is the hardest punching 175 we have plenty of film of IMO. Spinks is right up his clacker.

Do you know how the heavies perceived it? I haven’t heard Frazier or Ali compliment it, but I’m willing to bet they probably did.

I read somewhere that he actually struggled to put the weight on to move up to heavy.
And just his luck to rise, when Ali and Frazier were Knockin about.
