Round 1: 10-10 Round 2: Smith 10-9 Round 3: Smith 10-8 Round 4: Smith 10-9 Round 5: Smith 10-9 Round 6: Smith KO Brilliant work from Smith and O’Maison is down again. Smith closes the show with another knockdown in a brilliant performance to capture the British Title in front of his home crowd.
I quite like what I've seen from Smith, he's got some slickness to his game, he's patient and got some power to boot..
Even though tonight wasn't much of a test, I get what you mean. He looks like he has the tools to do it on the world stage, we shall see!
This is Matchroom we're talking about. He'll be touted for world level very soon whether he's ready or not.
Imo its more than that, its also they are cheap fights, for world title fights, they get a lot of simps declaring how good it is because they fancy them or they want to look like they are not misogynistic. There will be fans as well but its not for me
I hope Matchroom has patience because he looks like a really good prospect with all the right tools. Having said that, he didn't have much to defeat last night.
There were only 2 announcements last night, August 27th and September 17th. Both on DAZN PPV. Disappointing...
In relation to the fact that it was a Nxtgen card, I think it was quite good. Jordan Thompson teetered on the edge of a knock out defeat. If the last round had been 20 seconds longer he would have been knocked out. Sandy Ryan boxed a disciplined and tactically good fight over 10 rounds and Johnny Fisher was much calmer and not as eager as in his first fights. The main event was a mismatch and didn't give us many answers. I think this Nxtgen event was one of Matchroom's better ones in recent times. By the way : Didn't Eddie Hearn promise on Monday that there would be announcements this week ?
I was thinking this, assumed their had to be "AMAZING" announcements about their "STACKED" schedule on last nights show.
Then we agree Yes, Eddie Hearn needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. We are patiently waiting for the "BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS".
