    Not that I can remember.
But he did get up to avenge his loss after getting KO’d by Rahman.

Not the same thing I know
    But it is something.

He was nearly knocked down by Briggs and came back for a TKO.
He lost a few close rounds to Vitali and came back to bust up his face for a TKO.
He beat everybody he ever faced.
    Would beat anybody active now.

That's easy to say but in reality he would get knocked out by someone he is expected to beat.

And in the unlikely event that happened he would have the guts to rematch anybody and beat them.
At least that's what happened every time. So, if we go by the evidence........

Uh, he got up vs McCall and they screwed him in one of the most blatant screenings ever. The crowed and the announcing team were going ballistic, as was I.

So the answer is yes, but he was screwed.

Yet the evidence shows he never rematched Klitschko or Mercer .

No. But he came back after being staggered badly by Briggs. And don’t forget he got up after the shot from McCall although badly shaken. The only time he was truly KTFO was against Hasim.

Why would you want to rematch two people you’ve already beaten?

For a payday? If the public or a contract demands it. Certainly a Klit-Lewis rematch would have been a big, money making deal.

He was obviously happy with the money he had made in his career, just because there’s money on the table doesn’t mean he has to take it.

There obviously was no contractual obligation as it wasn’t taken up.

Public demand is irrelevant, look how many fights we don’t get now that we want.

Fact is he was clearly unmotivated for the fight, weighed in a career heaviest, was nearly 38 years old and after a year long lay off (was fighting roughly every 6 months beforehand).

    Everyone has to retire sometime.

Nobody is rating him because of his heart. Or really any reason you would ordinarily rate a HW as TBE. He was a super heavy and western, that's why he's ranked highly. His best wins were old, 5'9 and controversial? He got sparked the same way as Wlad? Doesn't matter. He's from an English speaking country with a large boxing fanbase and he's not undersized.

If the guy's name was "Lenin, Lewis" this forum would not care about him at all and Larry Holmes would be TBE.
